Le 8e Festival International du Film Policier de Beaune aura lieu du 30 mars au 3 avril 2016
The 8th Beaune International Thriller Film Festival will take place from March 30th to April 3rd, 2016.

et Danièle Thompson, la présidente du Jury de la 8e édition du Festival International du Film Policier de Beaune
sera l’actrice et réalisatrice Sandrine Bonnaire.
Actress and director Sandrine Bonnaire will be the Jury President of the 8 th edition of the Beaune International
Thriller Film Festival. She follows in the footsteps of Claude Chabrol, Olivier Marchal, Régis Wargnier, Jean-Loup
Dabadie, Pierre Jolivet, Cédric Klapisch and Danièle Thompson.

Sandrine Bonnaire s’est imposée de manière précoce dans le cinéma français : elle est âgée de quinze ans
lorsqu’elle obtient le premier rôle dans À nos amours de Maurice Pialat. C’était en 1985. Une date qui marque le
début d’une carrière longue, prestigieuse et diversifiée.
Si le cinéma n’était alors pour elle qu’une parenthèse, il est très vite devenu son terrain de jeu. Maurice Pialat a
su reconnaître en elle tout le talent dont elle disposait, talent que nombre de cinéastes et de critiques
reconnaîtront à leur tour jusqu’à faire d’elle une artiste de premier plan : lauréate du César du Meilleur Espoir
Féminin pour son rôle de Suzanne dans À nos amours, elle obtiendra seulement trois ans après celui de la
Meilleure Actrice pour son interprétation d’une jeune mendiante transie de froid dans Sans toit ni loi d’Agnès
Varda.
Le cinéma noir profite aussi de l’aura clair-obscur des personnages qu’elle interprète : jeune prostituée dans
Police de Maurice Pialat, elle devient l’incarnation même de la misère en prenant les traits de Mouchette, le
personnage bernanosien récurrent de Sous le soleil de Satan du même réalisateur, Palme d’or à Cannes en 1987.
Elle est aussi Alice, la femme fatale de Monsieur Hire de Patrice Leconte, la troublante Sylvie dans Secret Défense
de Jacques Rivette ou encore Jeanne, domestique et meurtrière en devenir pour Claude Chabrol dans La
Cérémonie.
Donnant une nouvelle dimension à ses qualités artistiques, elle passe derrière la caméra en 2007 avec Elle
s’appelle Sabine, un documentaire sur sa sœur atteinte du syndrome d’Asperger pour lequel elle obtient le Prix
de la Critique Internationale à Cannes. Elle réalise en 2012 son deuxième long métrage, J’enrage de son absence,
une fiction remarquée à la Semaine de la Critique cannoise.
Elle ne se limite toutefois pas au cinéma, et montre un intérêt certain pour le théâtre : en 2014, elle joue L’AideMémoire de Jean-Claude Carrière au Théâtre de l’Atelier, et lit L’Odeur des planches de Samira Sedira à la
Comédie de Valence. L’année dernière, enfin, elle a conçu et interprété un spectacle alliant mime, musique et
danse, intitulé Le Miroir de Jade, et présenté au Théâtre du Rond-Point.
L’œuvre de Sandrine Bonnaire est à la fois complexe et personnelle, faite d’ombre et de lumière, et sa
personnalité est de celles qui incarnent le mieux l’âme du Festival. C’est pourquoi nous sommes fiers d’accueillir
cette artiste accomplie en tant que Présidente du Jury de la 8e édition du Festival du Film Policier de Beaune.
Sandrine Bonnaire rose to prominence in French cinema at an early age. She was just 15 when she took the lead
role in To Our Loves by Maurice Pialat in 1985. This marked the start of a long, prestigious and varied career.
If to begin with, cinema was just a parenthesis, it soon became her playground. Maurice Pialat recognized her
outstanding talent, which many other filmmakers and critics would recognize in turn, making her into a leading
artist. She won the Best Female Newcomer César for her portrayal of Suzanne in To Our Loves, and three years
later won in the Best Actress category for her performance as a young beggar chilled to the bone in Vagabond by
Agnès Varda.
The chiaroscuro of the characters she played were perfect for noir film: As the young prostitute in Police by
Maurice Pialat; then as the embodiment of misery as Mouchette, the recurrent character created by Georges
Bernanos, in Under the Sun of Satan again directed by Pialat, which won the Palme d’or at Cannes in 1987. She
also played Alice, the femme fatale in Monsieur Hire by Patrice Leconte, the disturbing Sylvie in Secret Defense
by Jacques Rivette, and Jeanne, the maid and budding killer in Claude Chabrol’s La Cérémonie.
Adding a new dimension to her talents, she went behind the camera in 2007 with Her Name is Sabine, a
documentary about her sister, who has Asperger’s syndrome, which won the International Critics Prize at Cannes.
In 2012, she directed her second film, Maddened by His Absence, a drama that drew good notices at the Cannes
sidebar Critics Week.
But her work is not confined to the big screen. Among her stage credits, in 2014 she starred in L’Aide-Mémoire
by Jean-Claude Carrière at the Théâtre de l’Atelier, and read L’Odeur des Planches by Samira Sedira at the
Comédie de Valence. Last year she wrote and performed a show combining mime, music and dance, entitled Le
Miroir de Jade, performed at the Théâtre du Rond-Point.
Sandrine Bonnaire’s body of work is both complex and personal, composed of shadow and light, and her
personality is a perfect fit with the soul of the festival. That is why we are delighted to welcome this talented artist
as Jury President of the 8th edition of the Beaune Thriller Film Festival.

Présentateur de télévision, écrivain, metteur en scène, mais aussi acteur, producteur, scénariste et réalisateur.
Autant de métiers que de façons de voir le monde. Serge Moati n’est pas seulement un homme de culture, c’est
aussi un enquêteur, un homme qui a fait du réel son sujet de prédilection.
Il a produit et animé pendant dix ans "Ripostes", magazine hebdomadaire de société et de débats politiques
diffusé sur France 5, ainsi que "Cinémas" sur la même chaîne. Il a également réalisé des centaines d’enquêtes
pour des émissions du service public telles que "Cinq colonnes à la une", "La Marche du siècle" ou encore "Envoyé
spécial". Plus récemment, on lui doit les documentaires Élysée 2012, la vraie campagne !, Quai d’Orsay, les
coulisses de la Diplomatie ainsi que L'intérieur au cœur des crises, ou encore L'état d'urgence. Il prépare
actuellement deux films, dont l'un de fiction, sur la fin du régime de Vichy, et la fuite des collabos vers le château
de Sigmaringen.
Le milieu télévisuel lui est d’ailleurs totalement familier, puisqu’il fut à la tête de France 3 pendant quatre ans,
de 1981 à 1985. Il a ensuite créé sa propre société de production, « Image & Compagnie », qu’il dirigea de 1990
à 2014, puis fonda « La Compagnie du Belvédère » et « Belvédère Productions », qu’il préside toujours.
L’œil aigu et curieux que possède Serge Moati enrichira sans nul doute le regard décalé que porte la compétition
Sang Neuf sur le genre. C’est donc avec un plaisir immense et une confiance absolue que nous lui confions la
présidence du Jury Sang Neuf de cette 8e édition du Festival du Film Policier de Beaune.
Serge Moati is a broadcaster, writer, and director, as well as being an actor, producer, and screenwriter, with
each of his talents giving him a different way of looking at the world. He is not only a man of culture, but he’s also
an investigator who has made the real world his favorite subject.
For 10 years, he produced and presented “Ripostes”, a weekly show exploring issues of society and featuring
political debates broadcast on France 5. He also presented “Cinémas” on the same channel. He has directed more
than 100 reportages for public service programs such as “Cinq Colonnes à la Une”, “La Marche du Siècle” and
“Envoyé Special”. His more recent credits include the documentary Élysée 2012, la Vraie Campagne!, Quai
d’Orsay, les Coulisses de la Diplomatie, L'intérieur au Cœur des Crises, and l'État d'urgence. He is currently
preparing two new films, including a drama about the end of the Vichy regime and the flight of collaborators to
the castle of Sigmaringen.
Serge Moati was head of the public broadcaster France 3 from 1981 to 1985. He then founded his own production
outfit, Image & Compagnie, which he ran from 1990 to 2014, when he founded La Compagnie du Belvédère and
Belvédère Productions, which he still runs.
With his sharp eye, Serge Moati will no doubt make a shrewd judge for the Sang Neuf competition. So it is with
great pleasure and in complete confidence that we entrust him with the presidency of the Sang Neuf Jury for this
8th edition Beaune Thriller Film Festival.
