LAURENCE LEBOEUF
BIOGRAPHY
Born to veteran thespians Diane Lavallée and Marcel Leboeuf, Laurence
inherited the acting gene. Her first role was in the television series Virginie
when she was 11 years old.
When Laurence decided to learn English in 2004, she was immediately cast in
15/Love and subsequently nominated Best Supporting Actress at the Gemini
Awards for that role. Laurence has been actively working in both languages and
receiving critical acclaim ever since.
2015 has started out with a bang for Laurence. She was honoured to be the only
actress chosen for the jury of the 2015 Canadian Screen Awards. Laurence will
also be making her first appearance at the 2015 Sundance Film Festival in the
out-of-competition section "Park City at Midnight" for her film Turbo Kid. To top it
off, Laurence landed the lead role in Super Écran's very first Quebec produced
television series, Marche à L'ombre.
She has had the privilege to co-star alongside Donald Sutherland, Mira Sorvino,
David Duchovny, Karine Vanasse, Juliette Lewis, Maxim Gaudette, Max von
Sydow and Max Thieriot, to name a few.
She has also worked with numerous talented writers/directors, including Paul
Sorvino, Kevin Tierney, Fabienne Larouche, Christian Duguay, Sylvain
Archambault, Jean-Marc Vallée and Érik Canuel.
While acting is her first vocation, Laurence is also socially conscious. She
participated in a fundraising campaign for Centraide, has advocated for a
moratorium on shale gas in the province of Quebec, was the spokesperson for
the 43rd edition of Oxfam's Marche 2/3 and she has travelled to El Salvador to
work with Habitat for Humanity.
