The Stormont, Dundas & Glengarry Legal Clinic (Cornwall) has an opening for a Lawyer of the
Bar of Ontario, proficient in both Official languages of the Courts of Ontario (English and
French), interested in challenging and meaningful work with a team of committed professional
colleagues. The Clinic is a long-standing respected agency in Cornwall, Ontario, which brings
compassionate competence to assisting our fellow citizens.
Primary duties are to provide advice and representation in poverty law including social
assistance, disability Pension issues, Workplace Safety and Insurance, Compensation for
Victims of Crime, Employment Standards, Power of Attorney and Landlord and Tenant Law,
and to engage in public legal education and law reform work.
QUALIFICATIONS:






Member in good standing of the Law Society of Upper Canada.
Effective Advocacy skills.
Excellent judgment and problem-solving ability.
Excellent oral and written communications skills.
Fluency in both English and French
Proficient computer skills (MS Office products)
SALARY: We offer a fair remuneration with a comprehensive benefit package.

La Clinique juridique Stormont, Dundas et Glengarry (Cornwall) a une ouverture pour
une avocate ou un avocat du Barreau de l'Ontario habile dans les deux langues officielles
des tribunaux de l'Ontario (l’anglais et le français). Voici un poste stimulant et
intéressant au sein d’une équipe de collègues professionnels engagés. La Clinique est
un organisme respecté établi de longue date à Cornwall qui aide nos concitoyennes et
concitoyens avec compétence et compassion.
Les principales fonctions sont de fournir des conseils et la représentation en droit de la
pauvreté incluant l'aide sociale, les questions de pensions d'invalidité, l'indemnisation
des victimes d'actes criminels et des accidents du travail, les normes d'emploi, les
procurations et les droits des locataires. Ce poste prévoit aussi un rôle au niveau de
l'éducation juridique du public ainsi que de la réforme du droit.
EXIGENCES :
