TAX PRACTITIONER (LAWYER OR ACCOUNTANT) Company: Major national firm Location: Montreal SUMMARY Our client’s Montréal tax group is looking for a tax practitioner to join its busy tax planning practice. In this role, you will work as part of a team of skilled legal professionals to employ innovative and creative tax planning strategies to achieve practical solutions for clients. ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES ■ ■ ■ ■ ■ ■ ■ Tax planning in connection with domestic and international mergers and acquisitions The structuring of private and public investment and real estate funds Advising on tax matters related to corporate financings and reorganizations Estate planning Drafting opinions Seeking tax rulings Representing clients before the tax authorities. QUALIFICATIONS ■ ■ ■ ■ ■ You are a member of the Barreau du Québec and/or the Ordre des comptables professionnels agréés du Québec. Ideally, you will have completed the CICA/CPA Canada In-Depth Tax Course Parts I and II or an LL.M. or other graduate program in tax. You have 6 to 10 years of experience in the tax practice of a law or accounting firm. A self-starter with a “partner mentality”, you have the ability to take ownership of files and take pride in providing high quality service to clients.
