The new Larder Lake Municipal Complex will be opening soon and with it
will come new opportunities to develop activities for the youth in our community. In consideration of the
possibility to develop a youth program within the Township of Larder Lake, the Municipal Council would
like to take this opportunity to extend an invitation to all individuals interested in rejuvenating the Larder
Lake Youth Club Committee. All interested residents are encouraged to submit an Application for
Appointment to a Committee, Board or Commission. Applications may be picked up at the Municipal
Office or obtained on the community website www.larderlake.net. Completed applications should be
addressed to the attention of the Municipal Council. See you there!

Our 1st annual Ski-a-thon will be held Sunday, February, 20th. Please call Lynn Paquette for further information

A Pancake Breakfast will be held on Saturday, March 5th at the Chalet, please look for posters for more
information closer to the date.

Please be advised that the 2010 Annual Compliance and Summary Report for the Larder Lake Drinking
Water System is now available for viewing in the Municipal Office.

*****Volunteers Needed*****
The Municipality is seeking individuals that are interested in contributing and participating in the
following committees: Planning Committee, Special Events, Public Library Board, Larder Lake Ski Club
Committee, Property Standards Committee and the Emergency Preparedness Committee. Anyone who is
interested in sitting on one or more committees may pick up an application at the municipal office or the
municipal website www.larderlake.net. Once the application is completed, you are asked to return it to
the attention of the Municipal Council.
*****2011 Dog Tags*****
2011 Dog Tags are available at the Township Office at a cost of $20.00 per tag. The deadline for buying
dog tags is February 28th, 2011, after this date the tags will cost $30.00. Dog owners should give this
matter their immediate attention to avoid a fine and an increasing tag fee.

Please be advised that the Township Office will be closed on Monday, February 21st, 2011 for the
Family Day Holiday.

*****Notice of a Public Meeting*****
Township of Larder Lake Zoning By-law Amendment – Larder Lake Municipal Complex,
69 Fourth Avenue, Larder Lake, Ontario
TAKE NOTICE that the Council of the Corporation of the Township of Larder Lake will hold a public
meeting to amend the zoning by-law pursuant to the requirements of Section 34 of the Planning Act, RSO
1990, as amended. The Public Meeting will be held February 22nd, 2011 at 7:00 pm in the Municipal
Council Chambers located at 13 Godfrey Street, Larder Lake, Ontario.
PURPOSE AND EFFECT: The Township of Larder Lake is proposing to amend the Township’s zoning
by-law to rezone the former Larder Lake Public School property as a municipal complex. The effect of the
rezoning will be to allow the conversion of the school to permit public uses including a community centre,
senior’s centre, municipal administration office, library, museum and to permit the surrounding
municipally owned lands to be used for a park, playground and sports field.
ANY PERSON may attend the public meeting and or make written or verbal presentation either in
support of or in opposition to the zoning by-law amendment. If a person or public body does not make
oral submissions at the public meeting or make written submissions to the Township of Larder Lake
before the proposed zoning by-law amendment is adopted, the person or public body is not entitled to
appeal the decision of the Council of the Township of Larder Lake to the Ontario Municipal Board. If a
person or public body does not make oral submissions to the Township of Larder lake before the proposed
zoning by-law amendment is adopted, the person or public body may not be added as a party to the
hearing of an appeal before the Ontario Municipal Board unless, in the opinion of the Board, there are
reasonable grounds to add the person or public body as a party.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION related to the planning program for the zoning by-law amendment is
available during regular office hours at the municipal office.

All other times the Recreation Centre is closed and the rink is unsupervised.

Raven Beach Park Operator
*****
Interested individuals are invited to submit a proposal to hold the position of Park Operator at Raven
Beach Park. Please submit your proposals to the Public Works Department Committee of Council. All
proposals should be received no later than February 18th, 2011.
*****Family Day*****
Council invites members of the community to join them for a free lunch on Monday, February 21st, 2011
at the Recreation Centre. Hot dogs, coffee, tea and hot chocolate will be served from 11:00 a.m. – 1:00
p.m. The skating rink will be available for those who wish to skate; also the ski club committee invites
everyone to enjoy a day of skiing at the hill from noon to 5:00 p.m. for only $7.00.

Township Skating Rink*****
The Township of Gauthier would like to extend an invitation to the residents of Larder Lake to use
there outdoor Skating Rink. The Rink is unsupervised, but lights are on from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. A
facility is available for changing your skates.

It is important to obey the speed limits and road/trail signs posted. Snowmobiles and ATV’s must Obey
speed limits while driving through town. Please remember to respect property owners do not ride on
private property without permission of the landowner. Anyone witnessing reckless driving in our
community is encouraged to contact the Ontario Provincial Police 1-888-310-1122. Please respect
our community!

Smoke Alarms it’s the Law*****
Most fetal fires occur at night when people are asleep. Often, victims never wake up. A working smoke
alarm will detect smoke and sound an alarm to alert you, giving you precious time to escape. Every
home in Ontario must have a working smoke alarm on every storey and outside all sleeping areas.
HOMEOWNERS It is the responsibility of homeowners to install and maintain smoke alarms on
every storey of their home and outside sleeping areas. LANDLORDS It is the responsibility of
landlords to ensure their rental properties comply with the law. TENANTS If you are a tenant of a
rental property and do not have the required number of smoke alarms, contact your landlord
immediately. It is against the law for tenants to remove the batteries or tamper with the alarm in any
way.

considération de la possibilité d’élaborer un programme jeunesse dans les limites du Canton de Larder
Lake, le conseil municipal profite de l’occasion pour inviter tous les individus intéressés à la revitalisation
du Comité Jeunesse de Larder Lake. Nous encourageons tous les résidents intéressés à soumettre une
demande de nomination à un comité, un conseil ou une commission. On peut obtenir des formulaires de
demande au bureau municipal ou les obtenir sur le site Web www.larderlake.net. Les demandes remplies

*****Centre de ski de Larder Lake*****
Le Centre de ski de Larder Lake tiendra au chalet un souper au spaghetti de la St-Valentin le lundi 14
février de 17 h à 20 h. Le Centre sera ouvert pour du ski en soirée. Les coûts pour membres et non
membres sont de 5 $ chacun.
Notre 1er marathon annuel aura lieu le dimanche 20 février. Veuillez contacter Lynn Paquette au 705-6432370 pour plus d’information ou pour une feuille de promesses de dons.
Un déjeuner aux crêpes aura lieu le samedi 5 mars au chalet, surveillez les affiches vers la date pour plus

La municipalité recherche des individus qui sont intéressés à contribuer et participer dans les

d’identification 2011 pour les chiens*****
Les médailles d’identification 2011 pour les chiens sont disponibles au bureau municipal au coût de 20 $
chacune. La date limite pour l’achat d’une médaille est le 28 février 2011, après cette date elle coûtera 30
$ chacune. Les propriétaires de chiens devraient s’en occuper immédiatement pour éviter une amende et
des frais supplémentaires.

Prière de noter que le conseil de la Corporation du Canton de Larder Lake tiendra une réunion publique
pour modifier le règlement sur le zonage aux termes du paragraphe de la Section 34, Loi sur
l’aménagement du territoire, L.R.O. 1990, tel que modifié. La réunion publique aura lieu le 22 février
2011 à 19 h dans la salle du conseil situé au 13 rue Godfrey, Larder Lake, Ontario.
OBJECT ET EFFET : Le Canton de Larder Lake propose une modification au Règlement de zonage de
l’ancienne école publique de Larder Lake pour changer le zonage de la propriété en un complexe
municipal. L’effet du rezonage permettra la conversion de l’école pour autoriser l’utilisation publique
incluant un centre communautaire, un centre pour les aînés, l’administration municipale, bureau,
bibliothèque, musée et autoriser aux terrains environnants appartenant à la municipalité à être utilisé pour
un parc, un terrain de jeux et un terrain de sport.
TOUTE PERSONNE peut assister à la réunion publique et / ou de donner une présentation écrite ou
verbale que ce soit pour appuyer ou s’opposer au règlement de zonage. Si une personne ou un organisme
public ne présente pas d’observations orales lors d’une réunion publique ou présente des observations
écrites au Canton de Larder Lake avant que le règlement proposé soit adopté, cette personne ou cet

Le conseil invite les membres de la communauté à se joindre à eux pour un repas gratuit le lundi 21

patinoire sera accessible pour ceux qui désirent patiner et le comité du Club de ski vous invites à profiter
d’une journée de skis au Centre de ski de midi à 17 h pour seulement 7 $

du canton Gauthier*****
Le canton Gauthier lance une invitation aux résidents de Larder Lake à se servir de leur patinoire
extérieure. La patinoire est sans surveillance, mais les lumières sont allumées de 17 h à 21 h. Des
installations sont disponibles pour le changement de vos patins.

Il est important de respecter les limites de vitesse et les panneaux routiers/sentiers affichés. Les
motoneiges et les véhicules tout terrain doivent obéir aux limites de vitesse dans la ville. N’oubliez pas de
respecter les propriétaires de terrain, ne pas rouler sur les propriétés privées sans leur permission.
Quiconque est témoin de conduite dangereuse dans notre communauté est prié de contacter la Police
provinciale de l’Ontario 1-888-310-1122. Veuillez respecter notre communauté!

avertisseur de fumée en bon état - c'est la loi! *****
La majorité des incendies mortels ont lieu la nuit, alors que les gens dorment. Souvent, les victimes ne se
réveilleront jamais. Un détecteur de fumée en état de fonctionnement vous avertira de l’incendie, ce qui
vous donnera le temps de vous échapper. En Ontario, il doit y avoir un détecteur de fumée à chaque étage
d’un logement ainsi qu’à l’extérieur de chaque chambre à coucher.
PROPRIÉTAIRES : Il revient au propriétaire d’installer et d’entretenir les détecteurs de fumée à chaque
étage d’un logement ainsi qu’à l’extérieur de chaque chambre à coucher. LOCATEURS : Les locateurs
doivent s’assurer que les logements locatifs dont ils sont responsables sont conformes à la loi.
LOCATAIRES : Si vous êtes locataire d’un logement qui n’est pas équipé du nombre requis
d’avertisseurs de fumée, communiquez immédiatement avec le locateur. Par ailleurs, un locataire qui
retirerait les piles d’un avertisseur ou le mettrait hors service d’une autre façon commettrait une infraction
à la loi.
