JOSE ANTONIO SUAREZ ET LA 208T16 « EVO » S’ATTAQUENT À LA
SARDAIGNE !
Trois semaines seulement après le ‘Vodafone Rally de Portugal’, la Peugeot Rally Academy est
à nouveau sur le pont au ‘Rally Italia Sardegna’. Auteur de ‘chronos’ remarqués au Portugal
pour sa première course aux commandes de la PEUGEOT 208T16 « Evo », Jose Antonio
Suarez est prêt à relever un nouveau défi.

Troisième manche du programme mondial de Jose Antonio Suarez et Candido Carrera, le
‘Rally Italia Sardegna’ accueillera 17 concurrents en WRC 2.
•
324,60 kilomètres chronométrés répartis en 19 spéciales seront au programme de cette
épreuve, sixième étape du Championnat du Monde des Rallyes FIA.

En plus de la 208T16 « Evo » officielle aux couleurs de la Peugeot Rally Academy, deux
autres 208T16 sont engagées en WRC 2, celles d’Hubert Ptaszek (Peugeot Sport
Slovaquie) et Quentin Giordano (Sébastien Loeb Racing).
AJOUTER DE LA CONSTANCE À LA PERFORMANCE
Souvent présents dans le ‘top 10’ de chaque spéciale chronométrée au Portugal, Jose Antonio
Suarez et Candido Carrera ont permis à la 208T16 « Evo » de réussir ses débuts.
Malheureusement, quelques petites erreurs ont empêché l’équipage espagnol de confirmer au
classement général les performances affichées dans les spéciales.
Au volant de la dernière version de la PEUGEOT 208T16 encore plus performante et fiable,
Jose Antonio Suarez devra se montrer régulier en Italie pour signer un résultat probant et ainsi
confirmer ses bonnes dispositions entrevues en terre lusitanienne.
JOSE ANTONIO SUAREZ MOTIVÉ COMME JAMAIS !
Avant de retrouver les pistes Italiennes, ‘Cohete’ se montre confiant : « Ce sera seulement ma
deuxième participation au Rallye de Sardaigne, après celle de 2011. Les spéciales vont une
fois de plus être toutes nouvelles pour moi, comme ce fut déjà le cas au Portugal. Je suis
particulièrement satisfait des évolutions apportées à la PEUGEOT 208T16. En Italie, les
spéciales sont plus cassantes et plus étroites qu’au Portugal, mais ça devrait aller. Je souhaite
avant tout continuer mon apprentissage de la 208T16 « Evo » sur la terre car se sera
seulement ma deuxième course sur ce type de surface avec cette voiture. Il faudra également
confirmer les bons temps réalisés au Portugal ! »

JOSE ANTONIO SUAREZ AND THE 208T16 ‘EVO’ TO TACKLE
SARDINIA CHALLENGE!
Just three weeks after the Vodafone Rally de Portugal, the Peugeot Rally Academy will be
back in action on June 9-12, this time in Italy for Rally Italia Sardegna. In the wake of some
top times in Portugal to mark his maiden appearance in the PEUGEOT 208T16 ‘Evo’, Jose
Antonio Suarez is looking forward to this week’s challenge.

The third WRC event on Jose Antonio Suarez and Candido Carrera’s 2016 programme
with the Peugeot Rally Academy is Rally Italia Sardegna which has attracted an entry list
of 17 WRC2 crews.
•
Round 6 of the 2016 FIA World Rally Championship features a total competitive distance
of 324.60 kilometres divided into 19 stages.
•
In addition to the Peugeot Rally Academy’s 208T16 ‘Evo’, there will be two other 208
T16s in Sardinia for Hubert Ptaszek (Peugeot Sport Slovakia) and Quentin Giordano
(Sébastien Loeb Racing).
LOOKING TO ADD CONSISTENCY TO HIS OUTRIGHT SPEED
Jose Antonio Suarez and Candido Carrera posted numerous top-10 times in Portugal to get
the career of the 208T16 ‘Evo’ off to a successful start. Unfortunately, a number of small
mistakes prevented the Spanish pair from securing an overall result that mirrored their speed
on the stages.
At the wheel of the latest version of the PEUGEOT 208T16, which features improved
performance and enhanced reliability, Jose Antonio Suarez will be looking to add consistency
to his speed in his bid to secure a top result in Italy and confirm the potential he showed on
gravel in Portugal.
JOSE ANTONIO SUAREZ MORE MOTIVATED THAN EVER!
‘Cohete’ is in a confident frame of mind ahead of the Italian gravel event: “This will only be
my second attempt at the Rally Italia Sardegna after my first visit to the island in 2011. As in
Portugal, the stages will all be new to me. I am very pleased with the evolution changes that
have been made to the PEUGEOT 208T16. The Italian stages are rougher and narrower than
those we contested in Portugal but we should be okay. Above all, I want to carry on
familiarising myself with the 208T16 ‘Evo’ on dirt because this will only be my second outing
on gravel in the car. I also want to build on the good stage times I scored in Portugal!”
