Christophe Picard is a research professor at the Université de Paris I
Panthéon-Sorbonne and a fellow of the Centre National de la
Recherche Scientifique. He is a specialist on the history of the
Medieval Mediterranean, Muslim maritime history, Mozarabs, and the
history of the Ribat. His publications include: Espaces et réseaux en
Méditerranée. VIe-XVIe siècle, I, La configuration des réseaux (Paris,
2007); Byzance et ses périphéries (Monde grec, balkanique et
musulman). Hommage à Alain Ducellier (Toulouse, 2004) ed., with B.
