Rewrite the following paragraph in French. Watch for passé compose vs. imparfait.
The princess (la princesse) was born on May first. She was very beautiful. She had two brothers and a sister. One brother was very smart. The princess loved her family very much. They had lived in their castle (château) for a long time (longtemps).
One day, the princess saw a handsome man at the mall. He was buying a television. The princess said “hello” to the man. The man said “hello” also. He finished shopping, and asked the princess to eat dinner with him. She said “yes!” But when they got to the restaurant, she saw that (que) he had no money. The princess wanted to pay, but the man said “no.” He said “come with me to my house.” The princess went with the man, and when they got to his house, she found that he was a prince. He didn’t buy dinner, but he did buy her a car.
La princesse est née le premier mai. Elle était très belle. Elle avait deux frères et une soeur. Un frère était très intelligent. La
princesse aimait beaucoup sa famille. Ils habitaient leur château pendant longtemps.
Un jour, la princesse a vu un bel homme au centre commercial. Il achetait une télévision. La princesse a dit "bonjour" à l'homme. Il a dit
"bonjour" aussi. He a finit de faire les magasins, et a demandé à la princesse à dîner avec lui. Elle a dit "oui!" Mais quand ils sont arrivés
au restaurant, elle a vu qu'il n'avait pas d'argent.
La princesse a voulu payer, mais l'homme a dit "non." Il a dit "viens chez moi." La princesse est allée avec l'homme, and quand ils sont
arrivés chez lui, elle a trouvé qu'il était un prince. Il n'a pas acheter le dîner, mais il a acheté une nouvelle voiture à la princesse.
