The city of Lille has a very ambitious plan to develop green spaces around Lille,
expanding the green area from 2.000 ha up to 10.000 ha. The initiative “Objectif
metropolitan distance” resembles the intent of green poles, landscape parks and park
forests in several other North West Regions. The concept, implementation and
management of this new green city will be discussed.
