The rest can be paid by complementary health insurance. It is mandatory for students. It is one of the conditions for your application to be approved by your school or university (article L381-4 of the Social Security Code). In eastern France, MGEL manages student social security for nearly 8 out of every 10 students. Exemption from contributions on presentation of definitive grant award or provisional notification of grant award.
