Merci à Robert Houle d’avoir nettoyé tous les fils dans le coin
du secrétariat. Merci aussi à Germain Hammond, qui avec
Robert, ont réparé le mur qui a été brisé. Au grand soulagement
de tous, l’histoire de notre problème d’électricité, de téléphone et
d’internet est fini. Merci pour la patience et le généreux temps.

Christien Nardella, un paroissien, nous demande
d’être en union de prière avec lui et sa famille qui
ce samedi ,6 août, vont célébrer les funérailles de
Michael Nardella décédé à Hong Kong d’une crise
cardiaque à l’âge de 34 ans. La messe pour les
funérailles aura lieu ce samedi à Brossard. QC.
Nos condoléances à la famille Nardella de Calgary
et du Québec.
Les fils sont bien accrochés!
Histoire de prière
Le mercredi 3 août, l’intention de
messe était pour notre bénévole défunt,
Oscar Fauchon, de la part de Robert et
Roberta Houle... Le mardi 2 août,
Robert avait fait du bénévolat et nous
savions qu’il revenait avec Germain
travailler ce mercredi... Nous avons prié
avec joie pour Oscar et Robert, ainsi
que tous nos précieux bénévoles.
Notre Hillary
Messe spéciale
Le mardi 9 août à 17h30, il y aura une messe à la
mémoire de M. Romeo DeSouza, décédé à l’âge de 67
ans, frère de Hillary, notre musicien et notre réparateur
d’orgue, qui habite Calgary avec sa mère, Cypriana, et
son frère Placidus. M. Romeo DeSouza laisse dans le
deuil, en Angleterre son épouse, Filomena et ses
enfants, Reginald Jr, Alastair, Maria-Elena, Stuart, six
petits-enfants, ainsi que sa sœur, Juliet et son frère
Rev. Fr. Silvano, qui habitent en Inde. Il fut prédécédé
par son père, Reginald, et son frère Alex.

ONE ROCK - YOUR SUMMER DESTINATION - Planning your summer vacation?
One Rock Festival is the place to be from August 12 to 14 at Redwood Meadows
Fair Grounds (Tsuut’ina Rodeo Grounds) near Bragg Creek. There will be music, inspirational
speakers, a comedian, Mass, Reconciliation, Adoration, etc. Come grow in your faith and encounter
other young Catholics. You can camp with other youth and their families during a great weekend or
you can come for the day. It’s not too late to buy your tickets and come to One Rock Festival of Faith!

ONE ROCK - ONLINE SILENT AUCTION - Two beautiful artwork pieces are being auctioned off
online, which will contribute to the on-going fundraising efforts of the One Rock 2016 Festival. The
paintings can be viewed and auction information can be found at www.onerock.ca Bidding will end on
the final day of Festival. All are invited to attend!
OCTOBER 20th, 2016 BISHOP'S DINNER THEME : Shining the light of Christ into the dark issues
of human trafficking and pornography. Bishop Henry will give a keynote address speaking on
having a Clean Heart. We hope you will join us to be challenged by Bishop's words but also to support
our four amazing beneficiaries who are working to aid those impacted by these hard issues. The 2016
beneficiaries are: Catholic Family Service's Counselling Program, Next Step Ministries' Sparrow
House, The Joy Smith Foundation's 2017 Stampede Project and the YWCA Lethbridge's Amethyst
Project. Tickets are $175/person ($75 tax receipt) or $1400/table of 8 ($600 tax receipt).
RIDE FOR REFUGE 2016 -Ride for Refuge is back for it's fourth year in Calgary. Once again, the
Diocese is pleased to host this fundraising event for charities serving the vulnerable, displaced and
exploited. Funds raised by the Diocese will benefit our Elizabeth House Program which serves
parenting and pregnant young women at risk and without traditional supports. Join us October 1 to
walk 5km or ride 5, 10 or 25 km routes out in Springbank. Entry fee is $50 fundraised for each person
over 10. The first 100 people in Canada to raise $500 will get a limited edition Ride Hoodie!
FEED THE HUNGRY GOLF TOURNAMENT - Diocesan Golfers - Silvertip is calling! Do you love to
golf? Have you always wanted to experience the amazing Silvertip Resort in Canmore? Here's your
chance! Once again, Feed the Hungry is holding its annual golf tournament at Silvertip in Canmore.
This year's tournament is August 8. Golf for $350 ($100 tax receipt) and this includes breakfast, lunch,

COOK TEAM: FEED THE HUNGRY - You and your friends can start a Feed the Hungry cook team! In
preparation of the Sunday dinner, the Cooking Team Lead provides oversight while the other
volunteers provide support and assistance. Cook teams have one lead and approximately three to four
other volunteers. They are ideally scheduled one Sunday every six weeks. If you are interested, please

MARRIAGE PREPARATION "FOR BETTER & FOR EVER" - Accepts all couples preparing for
marriage. Due to the small group setting it allows us to focus on couples in one or more of the
following circumstances: living together, previously married, beginning marriage with children, couples
45+, or those who wish to have their marriage blessed in the Church. Upcoming Dates: Sep

TRANSITIONS - Transitions is a 15-week peer support program for those recently separated or
divorced. Participants will meet every week to reflect upon and discuss topics such as self-esteem,
stress, anger, guilt, blame, loneliness, forgiveness, blended families and more. The next program

LIVE MERCY AND JUSTICE CONFERENCE - Our Catholic Social Teachings provide the lens with
which to view and address many issues of our modern world. Come and explore with us as we learn
more about domestic violence; the challenges immigrants face after their arrival in Canada; how do we
make a just transition to a low carbon economy as we answer Pope Francis' call to care for God's

TASTING, FEELING, HEARING, TOUCHING MERCY: UNDERSTANDING THE PETRINE
MINISTRY..... - Come for a great weekend in at the Rimrock Resort Hotel in Banff on October 14 and
15 and hear Father Thomas Rosica, CEO of Salt and Light Catholic Media Foundation, speak on
“Tasting, Feeling, Hearing, Touching Mercy: Understanding the Petrine Ministry of Pope Francis
Through the Lenses of Mercy”. The conference is sponsored by the Religious and Moral Education
Council of the Alberta Teachers’ Association. $199 covers the conference and meals on Saturday.
