HIGHLY ANTICIPATED APPOINTMENT AT KRISTIANSTAD
The entry list for the third and final Competition of the CIK-FIA European KF and KF-Junior Championships at Kristianstad has a net increase with 30 additional Drivers (24 Drivers in the KF-Junior
category & 6 Drivers in the KF category). The KF title will be fought between the British Drivers Ben
Hanley and Tom Joyner, while KF-Junior is very open with a dozen drivers still able to be crowned.
Clear evidence of the quality of the Swedish organisation and the popularity of the CIK-FIA categories in northern Europe, the
Kristianstad Competition promises to be one of the most interesting of the 2015 European season. There are 84 KF-Juniors entered, 29 from Scandinavia, and the proportion is similar among the 63 drivers in KF. These figures reflect the strong interest at all
levels in the KF and KF-Junior categories in this region of the world, which is otherwise rather sparsely populated in comparison
to other major European nations.
The 2014 CIK-FIA Competition was a great success due to the skills and openness of the Asum Ring team. The presence of
Kristianstad on the 2015 CIK-FIA calendar is logical as the 1231m long track has amply demonstrated its selectivity, to provide
an ideal framework for the conclusion of the CIK-FIA European KF and KF-Junior Championship.
Hanley the favourite in KF
Although Tom Joyner (Zanardi-TM Racing-Vega) can still challenge Ben Hanley (Croc Promotions-TM Racing-Vega) for the KF title,
Hanley has a distinct advantage in taking the crown in Sweden. Besides Joyner, second place can still be taken by Felice Tiene
(CRG-Parilla-Vega), Juan Correa (Energy-TM Racing-Vega) and Richard Verschoor (Exprit-Vortex-Vega), setting up opportunities for
beautiful battles on track between experienced Drivers and rookies. The fight for victory will undoubtedly be much more uncertain
with the thirst for revenge of many talented Drivers such as Martijn Van Leeuwen (CRG-TM Racing-Vega), Alexander Vartanyan
(Tony Kart-Vortex-Vega), Nicklas Nielsen (Tony Kart-Vortex-Vega), Hannes Janker (CRG-Parilla-Vega) and Juri Vips (FA Kart-VortexVega) to mention only the top 10. One can only welcome the return of Laura Tillett (Zanardi-TM Racing-Vega) to karting among
the six wild cards in the Competition.
Roosens, the Belgian to beat in KF-Junior
The winner at the opening of the CIK-FIA European KF-Junior Championship at Portimao, Kenny Roosens (Kosmic-Parilla-LeCont)
managed to maintain the lead in England, but the list of contenders for the European title has increased behind him. Among the
dozen drivers able to win, those of current top five have the best chance. Clement Novalak (Tony Kart-Vortex-LeCont), Presley
Martono (Tony Kart-Vortex-LeCont) and Alex Quinn (CRG-Parilla-LeCont) recorded strong progress in the UK and are preparing
to maintain their momentum. Fourth in the standings, Christian Lundgaard (Tony Kart-Vortex-LeCont) showed last year that he was
particularly quick at the Swedish track where he hopes to shine this year.
However, the analysis of the prospects promises a great uncertainty about the outcome of the Races, as many Drivers and teams

La liste des engagés à la troisième et dernière Compétition des Championnats d’Europe CIK-FIA KF
et KF-Junior de Kristianstad enregistre une nette augmentation avec 30 Pilotes supplémentaires (24
Pilotes dans la catégorie KF-Junior & 6 Pilotes dans la catégorie KF). Le titre KF devrait se jouer entre
les Britanniques Ben Hanley et Tom Joyner, tandis que celui de KF-Junior reste très ouvert avec une
douzaine de Pilotes encore capables d’être couronnés.
Preuve évidente de la qualité de l’organisation suédoise et de la popularité des catégories CIK-FIA dans le nord de l’Europe,

en Grande-Bretagne et se préparent à continuer sur leur lancée. Quatrième du classement provisoire, Christian Lundgaard (Tony
Kart-Vortex-LeCont) a montré l’an dernier qu’il était particulièrement rapide sur la piste suédoise où il espère pouvoir briller cette
année.

Cependant, l’analyse des forces en présence promet une belle incertitude quant au résultat des Courses, beaucoup de Pilotes et
d’équipes ayant atteint un excellent niveau au cours de la saison. La conquête du titre devra intégrer ce paramètre stratégique
très important. Deux changements de matériel sont à noter : Sebastian Fernandez Wahbeh s’alignera cette fois au volant d’un
FA Kart/Vortex-LeCont du team RFM et Antonio Serravalle rejoindra RB Racing sur un Exprit-Vortex-LeCont. Un bataillon de 24
wild cards, dont la plupart maîtrise les subtilités du tracé d’Asum Ring, viendra pimenter la Compétition.
