Fin 1999, quatre “américains” débarquent
d’on ne sais où avec un premier album sous le
bras... Ils font escale chez Brennus Music et
glissent leur production dans le lecteur CD du
label... “OK guys, it’s GREAT, but BRENNUS
Music is only devoted to French bands!...” leur
répond le label...
C’est alors que les masques tombent. Ces
quatre “américains” nous viennent en fait du grand
ouest sauvage... de la France. C’est en effet du
côté de Nantes que WILD WEST a été créé par
Erik DOMENECH (guitares / chœurs), Stéphan
DUGUE (basse / chœurs), Denys FELICITE
(batterie / percussions) et D.D. FUCIARELLI
(chant).
Avec “One”, son premier album riche de
13 compositions personnelles, WILD WEST
perpétue admirablement un style cher à Brennus,
le Rock U.S. à la WHITHE LION fortement teinté
de Sudiste à la BLACKFOOT, LYNYRD
SKYNYRD et autres MOLLY HATCHET.
La classe et le professionnalisme de WILD
WEST sont impressionnant d'un bout à l'autre de
ce disque et nous font complètement oublier que
nous ne sommes pas en présence d’une des
célèbres formations issues d’un des états du sud
des USA.
Tout y est, la qualité des compostions, la
mise en place, la justesse et la tessiture du chant,
sans oublier le visuel ultra soigné du livret et de la
jaquette.
Avec WILD WEST, c’est un grand nom du
“Southern Rock” qui est né en France. Leur album
“One” sort en octobre 2000 en distribution Muséa
et le groupe se prépare à tourner tandis qu’il
travaille déjà à l’élaboration de nouveaux titres.
At the end of 1999, 4 "americans" showed
up out of nowhere, bringing with them their first
album... Their port of call was Brennus Music.
They put the album into the label's CD
player ... " OK, guys, it's great but Brennus works
with french bands only ", they were told.
Then, the truth came out. These four
"americans" did indeed come from the wild west
coast but ... of France.
The band, "WILD WEST", from the Nantes
region, was put together by Erik Domenech (guitars,
backing vocals ), Stephan Dugue (bass, backing
vocals ), Denys Felicite (drums, percussion ), and
DD Fuciarelli (lead vocals ).
With their first album, "One", containing 13
of their own compositions, WILD WEST create an
atmosphere much cherished by Brennus,
reminiscent of White Lion, Blackfoot, Lynyrd
Skynyrd, Molly Hatchett ...
From the first number to the last, disbelief is
suspended. Are you not listening to one of those
great bands form the Deep South ?
WILD WEST have got it all : composition,
beat, tune, vocal range and sleeve design are just
great.
WILD WEST, from France, will be a name
to remember on the "Southern Rock" music scene.
"One", distributed by Musea, came out in
october 2000. Meanwhile, WILD WEST are working
on new numbers and getting ready to go on tour.
