Honeywell H8808B Humidistat H8808C Dehumidistat INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS APPLICATION T h e H 8 8 0 8 B Hum idistat and H 8 8 0 8 C Dehum idistat (hum idity controllers) provide autom atic low voltage control o f humidifiers and dehumidifiers, respectively, in central heating system s. T h e y have a spst, snap-acting, dustproof switch. 0 0 flush to the Chronotherm ® III Thermostat. Drill the three holes as indicated on the mounting template. Run low voltage wiring to the location and pull about 6 in. (1 5 2 m m ) o f w ire through the hole. Pry the humidity controller assem bly from the w allplate by inserting a screw driver in the notch on the bottom of the w allplate (Fig. 1). Fasten the w allplate to the wall using the tw o screws provided. M ak e wiring connections to the humidity controller assem bly using leadw ires and w ire nuts provided (see W iring section). Push excess w ire into the wall. Plug the opening to prevent drafts from affecting humidity controller operation. Sn ap the humidity controller into the w allplate (Fig. 2). CAUTION 1. 2. 3. Ensure the installer is a trained, experienced service technician. Disconnect pow er supply before beginning the installation. Conduct a thorough checkout before leaving the installation. Mounting T h e w allplate does not require leveling for operation, but for ap p e a ra n c e only. Locate the humidity controller about 5 ft (1 .5 m ) above the floor on an inside wall. Be sure the humidity controller is exposed to a v e ra g e room tem p erature and a v e ra g e relative humidity. T h e m axim um tem peratu re at the location selected must not exceed 1 2 5 °F (5 2 °C ). T h e w allplate mounts directly onto the wall with the screws and anchors provided. Q Use the mounting tem plate (S ee Fig. 3) to determine where to drill the two mounting holes and the wire hole. Fold the mounting template as indicated and place it LEADWIRE M9471 F ig . 2.
