sports games; a strong lineup of complementary programming; and personal messages from various
well-known personalities in recognition of RDS’s anniversary.
RDS 25TH ANNIVERSARY TOUR
From Monday, September 22, to Friday, September 26, LE 5 À 7 will hit the road and meet RDS fans
across Quebec in order to celebrate the network’s 25th anniversary. Hosts Frédéric Plante and
Yanick Bouchard, supported by Gaston Therrien, André Roy, Valérie Sardin, Alain “le Baron”
Chantelois and Geneviève Langlois, will visit Sherbrooke, Gatineau, Trois-Rivières, Saguenay and
Quebec City to broadcast special editions in front of a live audience and showcase the local region
through exclusive reports and guests, as well as covering the latest sports news.
Thanks to a large tent that will be set up in a public space in each city, the RDS team will be able to
accommodate all fans who wish to join the celebration. Starting at 4 p.m. ET each day, guests will be
treated to hosted activities, food and entertainment for the whole family, not to mention the
opportunity to attend a live broadcast of LE 5 À 7 and meet the show’s stars.
The tour will wrap up on Friday, September 26, when not just LE 5 À 7 but also SPORTS 30 LE
MAGAZINE, HOCKEY 360 and L’ANTICHAMBRE will air live from Quebec City, next to the Colisée.
Each event will be presented in partnership with the local NRJ station, which will give its listeners the
chance to obtain passes to the tent’s VIP zone.
25 ANS D’ÉMOTIONS
As part of this week of celebration, a brand-new documentary series will be aired: 25 ANS
D’ÉMOTIONS. Produced exclusively by RDS, this high-quality series of 30 or 60 minute episodes
will look back on memorable sporting events from the past quarter-century and the human stories
behind them, supported by archival images. Many of the people directly involved in these moments,
which have become part of Quebecers’ collective consciousness, will share their memories,
providing viewers with an inside perspective on the events.
Beginning on September 22, viewers can enjoy the series’ first five episodes, with one show airing
each day throughout the week. The lineup for this initial run includes Frères du ring (Éric Lucas and
Stéphane Ouellet), Le dernier uniforme (the Expos’ last game), En synchro avec la vie (Sylvie
Fréchette), Le témoin (Bruny Surin) and Gagner en français (Université Laval’s Rouge et Or). All
five episodes will be presented again back-to-back on Saturday, September 27, starting at 7:30 p.m.
ET on RDS (see full schedule below).
The 17 episodes to be broadcast this season will cover the full gamut of emotions, from Saku

Koivu’s battle with cancer (Sisu, le courage du capitaine) to the golden era of mini-golf on RDS
(Birdie!) to Joannie Rochette’s Olympic medal (Ma plus grande fan). The series will feature
prominently in RDS’s fall schedule, including Saturday evenings.
SPORTS 30 LE MAGAZINE
Throughout the week of celebration, SPORTS 30 LE MAGAZINE, which is switching back to its 60
minute format this season, will highlight RDS’s 25th anniversary by devoting the second half of each
show to this special milestone.
Each day, Luc Bellemare will present a report on the network’s history, an En prolongation feature
centering on a key RDS sporting event and an Étoiles montantes feature in which he will welcome an
athlete whose potential was spotted by RDS in the past or a host who made a significant contribution
to the network. Viewers will also travel back in time with a pair of “retro” hosts, such as Chantal
Machabée and Serge Delongchamps, who will comment on images from the past each day.
L’ANTICHAMBRE
Every day, host Stéphane Langdeau will welcome some of the key people who have contributed to
RDS’s success over the past 25 years. From hockey broadcasts to the newsroom, not to mention
F1, tennis and golf, the faces of the network from past and present will join Stéphane on the famous
blue armchairs of Quebec’s number-one sports talk show.
THE DRAMA OF LIVE SPORTS CONTINUES
The world of sport won’t be taking a break during the week of celebration, so RDS will continue to
broadcast live action for fans’ enjoyment, including three Canadiens pre-season games, a preseason game between the Senators and Maple Leafs and an NFL Monday Night Football game
between the Bears and Jets (see full schedule below).
What’s more, messages from various well-known personalities—including not just sports celebrities
but also politicians and artists—will be aired regularly throughout this week of special programming
devoted to RDS’s 25th anniversary.
