For this week's podcast in English.com, we're talking about Gerrard, our
cat. Gerrard likes to be in many different places. Yes, in the summer, he
likes to be outside. He's often in the garden or hiding behind the tree or in
a large pot. But in the winter, he doesn't like to be in the snow. Now he
likes being inside and he has lots of favourite places. For example, on the
yellow cushion, on the sofa, under the bedcovers and in a big cardboard
box. He also likes being in the cupboard where we keep our glasses. And
Richard, one day I found him in the bathroom. Was he in the bath? No, he
was in the washing machine. But remember, he's also a very clever cat
because he also likes to be on the computer.
Vocabulaire
Synonymes pour: many = a lot of / lots of. Attention! Quand tu réponds à
une question, n'utilise que «a lot ». Ex: Do you enjoy swimming? Yes, a
lot! ET PAS Yes, lots of! Synonymes pour large = big / huge / great. Un
synonyme pour clever = intelligent.
Les quatre saisons: Spring – summer – autumn (or fall in US English) –
winter.
Animaux domestiques: goldfish – turtle – dog – cat – rat – mouse (mice au
pluriel) – bird - parrot – rabbit – hamster – lizard – guinea pig – snake.

Today I've decided to talk about my goldfish. Its name is Herman. It's red
and big. I bought it five days ago. It always stares at me as if it were the
first time we met!
