La marque NF attestet-elle d’une conformité aux
normes ?
Oui. Le référentiel d’une
marque NF est élaboré sur
la base de normes françaises,
européennes voire internationales en concertation avec
l’ensemble des parties intéressées (fabricants, utilisateurs…).
À ces normes peuvent s’ajouter
des spécifications concernant
le produit, ou le service, qui
correspondent à des caractéristiques demandées par le
marché. Le référentiel décrit
les contrôles à opérer par
le fabricant/prestataire, et par
AFAQ AFNOR Certification
ainsi que le réseau NF.
La marque NF est une
marque volontaire.
Dans quelques cas, elle peut
être référencée dans des textes
réglementaires, mais c’est
l’exception qui confirme la
règle ! Pour certains marchés,
la marque NF est néanmoins
devenue la règle incontournable et dans ce cas sa
détention est une clause
contractuelle.
Le grand public est-il seul
concerné ?
Non. Les deux tiers des
applications de la marque
concernent des produits
échangés entre professionnels,
donc un tiers seulement des

est destiné au grand public.

on the basis of French, European
or even international standards
in collaboration with all parties
concerned (manufacturers,
users, etc.). To these standards
may be added specifications

Is it obligatory?
Yes and no. The NF mark is
a voluntary mark. In a few cases
it may be referred to in official
regulations, but that is the
exception that proves the rule!
