Le comité a besoin de nouveaux membres qui
accepteraient de participer à une réunion par mois.
Vous êtes tous invités, y compris les jeunes
diplômés. Pensez-y! Votre participation serait un

Coats for Kids Program
Les Chevaliers de Colomb invitent les
paroissiens à participer au programme Coats
for Kids organisé en faveur des enfants des
familles défavorisées.
Le
Conseil
Suprême
des
Chevaliers
subventionne l’achat de ces manteaux d’hivers.
Ceux-ci coutent normalement près de $100
l’unité. Après subvention, ils sont vendus à
$16.25 l’unité, dans des cartons de 12 manteaux
chacun ($195.00 par carton + frais d’envois),
toute taille et couleurs confondues, pour les filles
et pour les garçons et de très bonne qualité.
Avec vos dons financiers, nous souhaitons
acheter autant de cartons possibles pour aider
les familles de Slave Lake, AB récemment
éprouvées et les enfants de notre paroisse qui
en auront besoin.

En restant dans le thème du mois de
novembre – le mois des mort,

Journée mondiale de la gentillesse
Sois bon pour l'être assez.
L'idée de cette journée est née à Singapour
en 2000 et a été promulguée par un
Mouvement mondial pour la gentillesse, un
organisme international.
Faire preuve de gentillesse, c’est bon pour la
santé psychique et physique. Des études et
des observations scientifiques le prouvent.

Vigil for the Protection of Human Life
Saturday 26 November, 2011 | 7pm St. Mary’s Cathedral, Calgary
In thanksgiving to God for the Incarnation of His Son and for the gift of human life, the
Diocese of Calgary invites all to pray for the Lord’s protection over human life. All are
welcome to attend this liturgical prayer of Scripture, song, and supplications for the
safeguarding of human life. Bishop Henry will be presiding. To organise a vigil in your own

Social Justice Office
Restorative Justice Week – The week of November 13-20th is Restorative Justice Week where
we turn our thoughts to a non-adversarial approach to justice that emphasizes healing in victims,
meaningful accountability of offenders, and the involvement of citizens in creating healthier, safer
communities. Crime is a violation of people and relationships. Restorative justice works to repair
the damage and promote healing and growth - important tools in finding more peaceful and
collaborative ways of resolving conflicts. Please include victims, prisoners and prison ministry
in your daily prayer intentions throughout this week.
The Human Experience Film - True Amazone Innovations and the Social Justice Office
are
coming together to raise awareness about homelessness and raise funds for the Acadia
Place project to help families at risk of being homeless. Join us for the showing of The
Human
Experience documentary at the Cardel Theatre (180 Quarry Park Blvd. S.E. Calgary) on
Thursday, November 17th from 7:30-9:00pm. The film features a group of young men
who embark on a journey to understand the human spirit amongst suffering. Their journey
takes them from living among the homeless of New York to orphans living in Peru, and
abandoned lepers in Ghana, Africa. Tickets are $10 in advance & $13.00 at the door. To

Religious Education Office
The Alberta Conference of Catholic Bishops and the Alberta Catholic School
Trustees’ Association (ACSTA) will be hosting the biennial “Catholic Conference” in
Calgary on March 9 - 10, 2012. This conference is designed to give all Catholics, from all
walks of life an opportunity to come together and pray and celebrate their faith. The
Conference theme is "Open Wide the Doors..." Welcome the New Evangelization. Several
of the Alberta Bishops will be presenting break-out sessions. In order to allow as many
people as possible to attend this event, the organizing committee is asking any local
businesses or individuals who would like to help sponsor this event to contact them for a
sponsorship package. There are many ways to become involved, from sponsoring meals
and refreshment breaks to donating products and services to enhance the Conference
program. If you or your business would like to help make this Catholic gathering more

Life and Family Resource Centre (LFRC)
Transitions – a 15-week program for those newly separated/divorced will begin January
23. For more information or registration call 403-218-5504.
Effective Co-Parenting: Putting Kids First will be offered on Thursday evenings from
7:00-9:00 pm. on the following dates: Feb 7, 14, 21, 28, and March 6. This program
provides tools to create effective communication skills for parents who are separated or
divorced. It is recommended that parents do not enroll in the same course. For more

The Marriage Preparation program “For Better and For Ever”, has been adapted for
couples in one or more of the following circumstances: living together, previously married,
beginning marriage with children, couples 45+, or those who wish to have their marriage

Social Support Group at Catholic Family Service - an ongoing social support group for
men and women that focuses on bringing people together who would like to make
connections to others and develop self-confidence in building relationships. New
members are welcome the first Tuesday of every month. Meetings are Tuesdays from
1:30 to 3:30 p.m., located at the Catholic Family Service office at 250-707 10 Ave SW.
