ANNUAL “ALL YOU CAN EAT” OCTOBER FEST
The Miminegash Firemenettes will be having their 3rd Annual “All You Can Eat” October Fest on
Sunday, October 24th starting at 5:00 p.m. at the Miminegash Fire Hall. Cost per person is $10.00.
Tickets can be purchased from any of the Firemenettes, Deagle’s Groceries, Tremblay’s Groceries
and F.J. Shea & Son. All proceeds will go to the Miminegash Firemen Equipment Fund. Thank you
for your continued support!

théâtre PLACIDE, L’HOMME MYSTÉRIEUX, le détective acadien qui a été embauché par la police
de New York pour venir débarrasser la ville de ses criminels les plus endurcis. Beaucoup de suspens!
À la recherche d’un authentique héro pour nous tous! Admission: âge d’or 6$; adulte 8$; jeune (1317) 5$; enfant 3$. Il y aura un tirage de 50/50. Les portes ouvrent à 18h15.
NOW IN ENGLISH!
At Westile Composite High School (Elmsdale) on Tuesday, November 16th at 7:00 p.m. Continuation
of the play PLACIDE, THE MYSTERIOUS MAN, the Acadian detective who was hired by the New
York police force to clean up the city of its hardened criminals. Alot of suspense! In search of a true
hero for all of us! Admission: seniors $6; adults $8; students (13-17) $5; and children $3. There will
be a 50/50 draw. The doors open at 6:15 p.m.
COMMUNITY SCHOOL - M. E. CALLAGHAN
We may lose a valuable program due to the lack of interest! We are looking for volunteers to be part
of the Board and to assist in establishing our courses. If we do not have any volunteers, there will not

CAISSE POPULAIRE DE TIGNISH
Les Caisse populaires dépendent sur les efforts de beaucoup de bénévoles. Afin de reconnaître ceux
qui ont bien servi nos communautés, chaque année nous vous invitons à faire des nominations pour
“le Membre de la Caisse Populaire de l’année”. Vous trouveré les fiches d’applications aux bureaux

Credit Unions depend on the volunteer efforts of many people. To recognize those who have served
our communities well, each year we invite your nominations for “Credit Union Member of the Year”.
Complete guidelines and application forms can be picked-up at the Tignish or Alberton Credit Unions
during normal business hours. Deadline for nominations is closing time on Friday, October 29th.

TIGNISH CHILDREN’S WISH
Tignish Children’s Wish Committee would like to thank everyone who supported this very
worthwhile cause over the past year. Because of your generosity, the Committee raised
approximately $11,700.00, which will help grant Wishes to children who have high risk, lifethreatening illnesses. Also, a special thank you to the Tignish Fire Department for their
sponsorship.
Tignish Children’s Wish Committee is planning a “Christmas House Tour” on Sunday,
December 19th. If you are interested in having your home in the Tour, please contact Janie
McRae at 882-2732. Ticket information and homes taking part in the Tour will be published at
a later date.
PARTY D’HALLOWEEN POUR PERSONNES DE 50 ANS +
Les Francophones de l’âge d’or de l’Île-du-Prince-Édouard en collaboration avec le Centre Belle
Alliance vous organisent une soirée de divertissement le jeudi 28 octobre, au Centre Belle-Alliance
à Summerside. L’activité débutera à 16h00 et se terminera vers les 20h00. La soirée comprendra
un souper. Vous assisterez aussi à des sessions d’informations sur l’Halloween. Aussi en soirée, des
jeux, de la musique et des prix pour le meilleur costumé. Un coût minime de 7$ sera chargé aux
personnes costumés et 10$ pour les gens qui ne seront pas costumés. RSVP avec Nicole Noonan

SIÈGES VACANTS
Il y a des sièges vacants au sein de Conseil d’administration du journal La Voix acadienne. Si vous
êtes intéressé à faire partie de ce conseil dynamique, veuillez rejoindre son président, Robert Bullen
au 902-854-7284. Nous voulons avoir une représentation provinciale et nous payerons vos
déplacements pour vous rendre aux réunions. Il s’agit de quatre rencontres par année, en plus de
l’assemblée générale annuelle. N’hésitez pas, on attend votre appel.
LE CLUB DES COEURS JOYEUX
Aimeriez-vous rencontrer des gens et vous amuser? Le groupe se rencontre tous les mardis à 13h00
au Centre acadien à DeBlois. Prochaine réunion sera le mardi 26 octobre à 12h00 midi. Nous y
faisons des activities incluant des joutes de cartes. Nous désirons inviter toute personne (même si
vous n’avez pas 50 ans) à nous joindre et apporter vos idées pour des activities.
LE CLUB DES COEURS JOYEUX
Would you like to meet people and enjoy yourself? The Group meets every Tuesday at 1:00 p.m.
at the Centre acadien in DeBlois. Next meeting will be held on Tuesday, October 26th at 12:00 noon.
We have different activities including card games. We wish to invite anyone (even if you are not 50)
to join us and bring your ideas for activities.

Halloween curfew for the Community of Tignish will be 7:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 31st.
BENEFIT - SKERRY
In aid of Cindy Skerry, married to Trevor Skerry, daughter of Wayne & Gaytane Gallant of
Miminegash. Cindy will be travelling to Costa Rica in November for M.S. liberation treatment therapy.
Family and friends are invited to attend a benefit to help cover the $20,000 cost of the surgery and
travel expenses. The Benefit will be held at the Alberton Community Center on Monday, October 25th
at 7:00 p.m. There will be local talent, items for auction, a fudge sale, 50/50 draw and lotteries. Any
donations would be greatly appreciated!
HALLOWEEN DANCE
There will be a Halloween Dance at the Palmer Road Community Centre (Knights of Columbus Hall)
on Saturday, October 30th from 10:00 p.m. to 2:00 a.m. Music by Junction 722. Admission is
$5.00 and everyone 19 years and over are invited to attend. There will be 1st, 2nd and 3rd place prizes
for best costumes!
GOLDEN SLIPPER FRIENDS OF THE TIGNISH SENIORS HOME
We would like to thank all family members who so graciously donated prizes, made fudge and peanut
brittle for our Fundraiser Bingo. Your generosity helped us raise $1,300.00.

We wish to thank our family members and friends for joining us on October 16th to celebrate our 50th
Wedding Anniversary. Special thanks to all who helped to organize this special occasion. Thank you
for the anniversary wishes, cards and gifts. Special thanks to our parish priest, Father Jim Willick, for
