Committee on Labor and Human Resources, Minority Staff and works for the ranking
Republican member of the Committee, Senator Nancy Landon Kassenbaum. Prior to joining
Senator Kassenbaum's personal staff, Ms. Barnes-O'Connor was the Acting State Coordinator
of the Connecticut Child Welfare Reform Initiative. Ms. Barnes- O'Connor has had extensive
experience in child welfare and juvenile justice. She began her career as a foster care and
delinquency caseworker and has since managed a number of innovative public and
