This industrial PhD thesis is a French CIFRE contract between Alstom Grid and the Industrial Engineering Laboratory of the Ecole Centrale Paris (a leading French “Grande Ecole”). Speciality Mechanical Structures and Systems 2003-2005 “Classe Préparatoire aux Grandes Ecoles” (preparing students for the French “Grandes Ecoles” entrance exams) in Physics and Mathematics at the Lycée Louis-Le-Grand.
