Lenard Sali is Counsel in our Commercial Litigation Group in our Calgary office. Len
has extensive experience and expertise in commercial, energy and securities litigation,
as well as telecommunications law, oil & gas law, dispute resolution, and directors’ and
officers’ liability. He is consistently recognized as a leading lawyer in several of these
areas by the foremost legal rankings publications.

Over the course of his long and distinguished career, Len has made numerous
appearances before all levels of court including the Supreme Court of Canada and the
Federal Court of Canada, and has acted as senior counsel in a number of leading
cases. Len appears regularly before Alberta Courts, regulatory boards and tribunals,
including the Energy Resources Conservation Board, and also has extensive
experience representing foreign-based clients and seamlessly working with US counsel.
Len was appointed Queen’s Counsel in 1989, and is an appointed Fellow of both the
American College of Trial Lawyers and Litigation Counsel of America, trial lawyer
honorary societies. These fellowships are reserved for less than one per cent of all practising lawyers of any state or province.
REPRESENTATIVE WORK

Acted as lead counsel in various disputes on behalf of corporations such as BP
Energy, ATCO Electric, Shore Gold, Enerplus Corporation, Paramount Energy
Trust, Shell Canada, Suncor Energy, South Yukon Forest Corporation, as well
as a host of other corporations, both public and private, and private citizens.

Acts for Dow Chemical Canada ULC and its affiliates including Dow Europe
GmbH, in a $300-million claim against NOVA Chemicals over the co-ownership
and operation of an ethylene production facility.
