Functions
The General Directorate of Information Technology and Communication
shall:
- develop strategies for the development of telecommunications, computing
and audiovisual techniques;
- participate in defining a framework for building the Algerian society of
information;
- to ensure compliance with the conditions of permanence, continuity and
network security based OSM information technology and communication;
- define the principles and policy for scarce resources;
- organize and ensure the smooth operation of the network stations maritime
mobile services and mobile satellite-based maritime;
- to participate in a coordinated national framework, the definition of
national policy for the peaceful use of outer space;
- ensure compliance with the requirements demanded by national defense
and public security;
- to propose and contribute to the implementation of all measures
contributing to the development of applied research in the fields of
telecommunications, computing, audio-visual techniques;
- implement Government policy regarding universal telecommunications
service
Strategic priorities
Un plan multisectoriel appelé ‘’Stratégie E-Algérie ’’ a été développé pour
définir les objectifs à atteindre et les actions à mettre en oeuvre dans les cinq
prochaines années. Ce plan est articulé autour de treize axes majeurs.
Pour chacun des axes majeurs, un état des lieux a été élaboré suivi d’une
definition d’objectifs majeurs et spécifiques à atteindre au cours des cinq
prochaines années ainsi qu’une liste d’actions pour leur mise en oeuvre.

Sous l’autorité du Ministre, l’administration centrale du ministère de la poste et
des technologies de l’information et de la communication comprend:
• Le chef du cabinet,
• L’inspection générale
• Le secrétaire general:
- La direction générale des technologies de l’information et de la
communication ;

La direction des services financiers postaux ;
La direction des affaires juridiques, des relations internationales et de la
communication ;
La direction des ressources humaines et de la formation ;
La direction des finances et des moyens.

The implementation and management of Algerian national ICT policy has
