SESSION 2016
La sixième session de l’Académie Internationale du Droit de l’Arbitrage (« Arbitration Academy
») se déroulera du 4 juillet au 22 juillet 2016
La leçon inaugurale sera donnée par le Professeur Pierre Tercier le 4 juillet 2016 à 18 h. La
Goldman Lecture sera délivrée par Paul Friedland (AAPL v Sri Lanka -- Rethinking Protection
and Security for Claims Arising from Terrorism) le 12 juillet 2016 à 18 h 30 au Centre Interallié.
La session 2016 inclura un cours général donné par le Professeur Jan Paulsson. Les cours
spéciaux seront enseignés par le Professeur Bernard Audit, le Professeur Sebastien Besson, le
Professeur Kaj Hober, le Professeur Charles Jarrosson, le Professeur Guido Santiago Tawilu et
le Professeur Campbell McLachlan. Les ateliers de travail et séminaires seront assurés par le
CIRDI (Luisa Fernanda Torres Arias), la CCI (Andrea Carlevaris), le ICDR et la CPA (Brooks
Daly). Le Professeur James Dow donnera un séminaire sur le Quantum.

2016 SESSION
The Program of the sixth Session of the International Academy for Arbitration Law (“Arbitration
Academy”), which will run from July 4, 2016 through July 22, 2016, has been released recently.
The Arbitration Academy was launched in July 2011 in response to the increasing demand for s
pecialized teaching in international arbitration. It offers a three-week Summer Course to
students and
young practitioners interested in the field, covering both international commercial arbitration and
international investment arbitration. The Summer Courses are given in Paris the first three
weeks of July
each year, and are offered in English. They include a 10-hour General Course (alternating each
year between commercial and investment arbitration), 5-hour Special Courses, Workshops and
Seminars
on institutional arbitration, as well as two Lectures open to the public, the Academy’s Inaugural
Lecture
and The Berthold Goldman Lecture on historic arbitration stories.
Now entering into its sixth year, the Arbitration Academy has become an acclaimed success by
offering courses taught by world renowned faculty to participants ranging from law students to
government
officials representing over 65 countries.
The 2016 session will include a General Course given by Professor Jan Paulsson. The
Inaugural Lecture will be delivered by Professor Pierre Tercier and the Berthold Goldman
Lecture on Historic Arbitration
Stories will be given by Paul Friedland. Special
Courses will be taught by Professors Bernard Audit,
Sebastien Besson, Kaj Hober, Charles Jarrosson, Guido Santiago Tawil, and Campbell
McLachlan. The
2016 Workshops and Seminars will be offered by ICSID (Luisa Fernanda Torres Arias), the ICC

(Andrea
Carlevaris), the ICDR, and the PCA (Brooks Daly). A Special Seminar on Quantum will be
delivered by
The Brattle Group (James Dow).

The Application Form (to be found on the Arbitration Academy website), along with Curriculum
Vitae, copies of diplomas and transcripts, as well as a personal statement
explaining the interest in the program should be sent via email by March 13, 2016 to

. Applicants will be notified of the decision regarding their application
by May 1, 2016.
L’Académie internationale de droit de l’arbitrage (Arbitration Academy) change d’équipe.
L’équipe fondatrice, composée d’Emmanuel Gaillard (président), Yas Banifatemi (co-secrétaire
général), Alexandre Hory (co-secrétaire général) et Jean-Georges Betto (trésorier), a décidé au
terme de trois années d’exercice de passer la main à une nouvelle équipe. Celle-ci est
désormais composée de Pierre Mayer (président), Eduardo Silva-Romero (co-secrétaire
général), Jean-Baptiste Racine (co-secrétaire général) et Pierre Pic (trésorier). Mathias Audit
rejoint Marie-Elodie Ancel et Malik Laazouzi pour composer le comité de sélection. Isabelle
Rivière est en charge du secrétariat.
Le programme de la session 2014 est finalisé depuis le mois de janvier. La leçon inaugurale

sera donnée par le Professeur Hanotiau (« Les conflits d’intérêts : à la recherche d’un juste
équilibre ») le 7 juillet 2014 à 18 h dans les locaux de la Cour d’appel de Paris. La Goldman
Lecture sera délivrée par Lord Peter Goldsmith QC le 21 juillet 2014 à 18 h au Centre Interallié.
La session 2014 inclura un cours général donné par le Professeur Gabrielle Kaufmann-Kohler.
Les cours spéciaux seront enseignés par le Professeur Luca Radicati di Brozolo, le Professeur
Joao Bosco Lee, le Professeur Christophe Seraglini, le Professeur Zachary Douglas, le
Professeur Alan Rau et le Professeur Phillip Capper. Les ateliers de travail et séminaires seront
assurés par le CIRDI (Mairée Uran Bidegain), la CCI (Andrea Carlevaris), le DIS (Francesca
Mazza) et la CPA (Brooks Daly).
