The company HOOD was founded in 1920 by William Hood, a WWI amputee.
It was a family run business until December of 1988 when CAMP International Limited purchased the company HOOD.
In the spring of 1989, all production was relocated in Trenton, Ontario. In 1997, Trulife purchased
CAMP International. Trulife is a manufacturer and market leader of silicone and gel-based
products, based out of Ireland since 1968.
The HOOD production area occupies approximately 5,000 square feet of the 35,000 square feet
recently expanded Trenton facility, which now houses all manufacturing of HOOD and Trulife products for the
North American and Global markets.
Hundreds of socks and sheaths are manufactured every day, using state of the art Shima-Seiki
computerized knitting machines. Our production staff has excellent knowledge and countless years of experience
in producing top quality prosthetic socks, sheaths and accessories.
We constantly strive to improve our current products, and continue to introduce new products

DAMAGED SHIPMENT POLICY & PROCEDURE
• Please examine the container(s) upon receipt of goods. Note any damage on the delivery bill and have the driver sign, acknowledging the damage.
Contact the delivery service, and they will file an insurance claim. Then call Trulife to arrange for the shipment of replacement merchandise.
• Inspect the contents within 10 days. If you find shipping damage that was not obvious upon receipt, call the carrier immediately to request an inspection of both the container and merchandise. All claims for damage and shortage (container lost in transit) MUSTBE MADE WITHIN TEN DAYS OF
RECEIPT. If you have any questions, call Trulife.
RETURN POLICY
All merchandise has been carefully inspected and is manufactured from the highest quality materials; please examine your order thoroughly as soon as you
receive it.
• Altered, discontinued, or custom-made items are not returnable.
• All returns must be prepaid (collect shipments will be refused) unless the item is defective, or was shipped in error by Trulife, in which
case your account will be credited the return postage or freight.
• Unless faulty, all products must be returned within 30 days in order to receive full credit. Returns requested 31 days after the purchase date will be
assessed a handling/ inspection charge as follows:
20% – 31 thru 45 days
30% – 46 thru 60 days
40% – 61 thru 90 days
50% – 91 thru 120 days
No returns will be accepted after 120 days. All returns must be in restockable condition.
RETURN PROCEDURE
If you need to return an item, please call Trulife for a return authorization number and state the reason why you wish to return the item.
To ensure fast service when you call, please have at hand the following:

SIZING GUIDE AND ORDERING INFORMATION
HOW TO DETERMINE CORRECT HOOD SOCK SIZE
1. Measure limb circumference at the top of the prosthesis socket. Divide by 2; this will be the top width of
the sock.*
2. Measure the length of the limb from the distal end to the top of the socket. Add 2" – 4" to allow for fit and/or
shrinkage. This will be the length of the sock.*
3. Measure circumference 2" above the bottom of the residual limb. Divide by 2; This will be the toe measurement
(Toe width of a HOOD sock is automatically determined by the size ordered).*

SPECIAL SOCKS
We use Shima Seiki electronic knitting machines for the manufacturing of HOOD prosthetic socks. We have the ability to make Symes,
Chopart, Box/Odd Toe, Pelvic Cut with or without tie, CAT CAM and other specials according to your specifications.
SPECIAL SOCKS
When ordering specials, please follow these instructions carefully.
All specials are 3 – 6 weeks delivery.
For each sample requested or recommended, a FEE will apply.
PRICING
Send us the complete requirements and measurements, for an accurate quote.
RETURN POLICY
By their nature, specials are unique, often requiring hand knitting and special handling.
Please verify your measurements and specifications, as we do not allow returns on special items.
CAT CAM SOCKS
Cat Cam Socks are specially tailored to eliminate excess sock in the crotch area. The socks are
cut in the groin area to allow a better fit.
To order:
Indicate yarn type and ply desired plus specific dimensions (top, length, toe), specifying
CAT CAM version.
BOX TOE OR ODD TOE SOCKS
Occasionally some patients require a “box” or “odd” toe, different from standard toe width.
To order:
Indicate yarn type and ply desired plus specific dimensions (top, length, toe).
Alert the order desk to the fact that the sock has a box or odd toe.
PELVIC CUT AND TIE
Better fitting may be possible by cutting a “V” in the sock at the hip unit, and adding ties for securing the sock in place.
To order:
Indicate yarn type and ply desired plus specific dimensions (top, length, toe), specifying that you
need a pelvic cut and tie.
SYMES AND CHOPARTS
Please consult page 13 for Standard Symes and Chopart sizes before placing an order for a
special sock. All Symes and Choparts are knit to special dimensions for each patient. As such, it
is necessary to give all measurements in order to provide the best fit for your patient. If possible,
please provide a diagram indicating width at the top, length, ball circumference, circumference at
top of ball, etc.
To order:
Indicate yarn type and ply desired. Provide a diagram with all the important measurements.
We will then supply a sample to allow final fitting. Thereafter we require you to order in multiples
of six.
Note: Many clinics are using Comfy Stretch or Cool Sock for Symes and Choparts. The stretch
in the material contours best and allows for a very good fit.
PATIENT SPECIALS
HOOD has always provided the best patient specials, knit carefully to the specifications required
for each patient. These socks are knit, not tailored and accordingly, allow the smoothest fit with no
uncomfortable seams.
Diagrams are necessary to provide every important dimension required. Please be as clear and
comprehensive as possible.
To order:
Indicate yarn type and weight desired. Provide a comprehensive diagram with all measurements
and any special features desired. We may recommend that a sample be made for final fitting (A
FEE per sample applies). You will thereafter be required to order in multiples of six.
SOCKS WITH DISTAL HOLES
Socks with distal holes are available for most type of socks. Please refer to the sizing charts for
model numbers. Once you have chosen the model number and size, simply substitute the first
number with an H (example: 51038-20 becomes H1038-20).

HOOD a toujours fabriqué les meilleurs spéciaux, tricotés avec soin aux spécifications requises par le
patient. Ces bas sont tricotés, et non pas coupés, donc ils permettent un ajustement lisse sans couture
désagréable. Les diagrammes sont nécessaires pour fabriquer chaque dimension importante requise.

CAT CAM SHRINKER – ABOVE KNEE - STATIONARY BELT WITH HOOK-AND-PILE CLOSURE
The CAT CAM Prosthetic Shrinker utilizes the CAT CAM principle of a “V” shaped medial wall. In this manner, the proximal
portions of the medial superior residual leg can be completely contained without medial tissues coming out or rolling down
from a slightly curved or straight medial trim line. No more rolls forming at the top, but total comfortable containment and
reduction.
Instruct the patient to place the vortex of the “V” shape at the hard symphysis pubis area which is usually 1 to 2 inches
anterior to the mid line, giving maximum relief to this sensitive area while totally containing the rest of the proximal tissues.
Of course with any prosthetic shrinker, be sure you are not restricting circulation proximally.

Le réducteur de moignon CAT CAM utilise le principe CAT CAM du mur médial en forme de “V”. De cette façon, les portions
proximales de la partie supérieure médiale de la jambe restante peuvent être contenues complètement sans que les tissus
médiaux débordent ou s’affaissent dû à une coupe médiale légèrement courbée ou droite. Donc, aucun bourrelet ne se forme
en haut, mais seulement un endiguement total et une réduction confortable.
Enseigner au patient comment placer le vortex du “V” au niveau le plus ferme de la symphyse pubienne. Cet endroit se
retrouve habituellement 1 à 2 pouces antérieurement à la ligne médiane, et donne le soulagement optimal à cette région
sensible. De plus, il permet l’endiguement complet du reste des tissus proximaux. Évidemment, avec tout réducteur de
moignon, il faut s’assurer que la circulation proximale n’est pas restreinte.
