SUMMARY
Rotberger and his associate decide to go into upmarket erotic movies. They purchase the rights to
"Conversations with Dr. Schweitzer, Father Charles de Foucauld and Mermoz" from its author, a
stuffy academic, and entrust the task of transforming this historical philosophical fresco into porn
to a penniless young director. The director, Manuel Cauchois, has been preparing the film of his
life for the past ten years: an adaptation of "The Charterhouse of Parma"...
