 Getafe
est une ville d'Espagne située à 13
kilomètres au sud de Madrid, dans une zone
plane de la Meseta Central (« plateau central »).
C'est l'une des villes les plus peuplées et
industrialisées de l'aire métropolitaine de la
capitale.
 La proximité de Getafe avec Madrid a permis un
développement industriel important durant le XXe
siècle, provoquant une hausse de la population
s'établissant aujourd'hui à 167 164 habitants et la
transformant en une ville-dortoir.
Getafe is a city in the southern zone of the Madrid
metropolitan area, Spain, and one of the most
populated and industrialized cities in the municipality.
The city is located 13 km south of Madrid's city centre,
within the metro area.
 Getafe's proximity to Madrid has propagated great
industrial development during the 20th and 21st
centuries. The industrialization of Getafe led to an
increase in population to 159,300 (as of December
2007). Due to its industrial and social networks, the
majority of residents work or study within the city, and
has mitigated its transformation into a commuter town.


Getafe é um município da Espanha na província de
Madrid, comunidade autónoma da Madrid, situado a
14 quilômetros ao sul de Madrid. Nele habitam
158000 pessoas e tem uma atividade industrial e
comercial muito importante. Na cidade esta situada
uma das bases aéreas mais velhas de Espanha, e
também fica nela a universidade Carlos III. Em
Getafe está também o chamado "Cerro de los
Ángeles", considerado o centro geográfico da
Península Ibérica. A equipa de futebol de Getafe
ascendeu à primeira divisão da liga espanhola há
dois anos. O Municipio encontra-se ligado a Madrid
por meio das autoestradas (A-42, A-4, M-45 e M-50),
com autocarros, trem e metro.
