Ronald Kosonic is a partner in the Investment Management Group at the Toronto office
of Borden Ladner Gervais LLP. Ron practises corporate, commercial and securities law,
focusing on domestic and offshore hedge funds, private equity funds, investment
management companies, securities regulation and regulatory compliance. He assists
Canadian and foreign fund managers and portfolio managers on registration matters,
on the creation of new investment products and on ongoing legal compliance matters
and regulatory audits.

With 26 years of securities law experience, Ron has been involved with many of
Canada's hedge fund professionals and has participated in the growth cycle of a large
number of hedge funds in Canada and offshore since 1994.
Ron is a frequent speaker and writer on topics of interest to the hedge fund industry.
REPRESENTATIVE WORK

Has extensive experience in advising and assisting on the structuring and
creation of hedge funds, alternative investments and other pooled fund
products in Canada and offshore.

Regularly represents and advises investment advisers, dealers and
investment fund managers on registration, ongoing legal compliance
matters and regulatory audits.

Has advised Canadian and foreign issuers and broker-dealers with
respect to the private placement of securities in Canada.

Has advised Canadian and foreign investors with respect to the purchase
of privately offered securities in Canada.

Regularly advises reporting issuers and investors with respect to
continuous disclosure obligations.

Has provided specialized advice as an expert witness in connection with
securities litigation involving hedge fund products.

Generally advises on corporate, commercial and securities law matters.
