ofloyalanddedicatedservicetoCanadaandtheLogisticsBranch.
SgtLafroyenrolledintheCAFon04July1985atCFRCWinnipeg.HisfirststopwasCFRS
CornwallisNS,thentoBordentotheCanadianForcesSchoolofAdministrationandLogisticsfor
histradestraining.HisfirstpostingwastoCFBPetawawaasacookwith2SvcBn.On1Mar
1989hewaspostedtoCFBMooseJawDetDundurnuntil19July1993whenhewasonceagain
postedbacktoPetawawawith2CERasaLS.Duringhistimetherehecompletedathreemonth
tourinBosnia.UponhisreturnfromtourhewaspromotedtoMSandpostedtoCFBPetawawa
andemployedatNormandyCourtKitchen.ItseemedthatPetawawahadaholdonhimbecause
hewasthenpostedtotheRCDforthefirsttimeon3July2000.Hecompletedasixmonthtour
inBosniaagainfromMar–Septof2001.Uponcompletionofthetourhewaspostedto1RCR
from2001–2003,atwhichtimehewaspostedasecondtimeto2CER;completinga2month
tourinKabul.In2005hewaspromotedtoSgtandpostedforthesecondtimebacktotheRCD
fora5monthperiodthenpostedtoCFBBorden.AfterayearinBordenhewasthenpostedto
NorthBayin2006andcompleteda7monthtourinAfghanistan.In2009CFBPetawawacalled
onceagainandhereturnedthistimeto2CMBGHQ&SigsastheKO.Hewaspostedto4CDSB
Petawawain2015workingatNormandyCourtkitchenastheICProcurement.Onthe30Sept
2015hewaspostedtoJPSUwherehewillfinishhiscareeron8Sept2016.
UponretirementRobandhiswifeHeatherwillremaininPetawawa;togethertheyhavetwo
beautifulchildren,adaughterSamanthaandasonRJ.Heintendsonspendingtimeworkingin
hishobbyshopdoingwoodworkingandstarttravelingin2017withhislovelywife.
AretirementluncheonwillbeheldattheReichwaldSgt&WOMessonWednesdayJuly27from
1300–1600hrsinPetawawa.Thoseplanningonattendingtheeventandorwishingto

àl’ERFCCornwallis(Nouvelle‑Écosse),aprèsquoiilvaàBorden,àl’Écoled’administrationetde
lalogistiquepourrecevoirsaformationprofessionnelledecuisinier.Sapremièreaffectationest
àlaBFCPetawawaau2BonSvc.Le1ermars1989,ilestaffectéàMooseJawDétDundurn
jusqu’au19juillet1993,lorsqu’ilestdenouveauaffectéàPetawawaauseindu2RGCcomme
Mat1.Durantcettepériode,ileffectueunemissiondetroismoisenBosnie.Àsonretour,ilest
affectéàlaBasedePetawawa,pourtravailleràlacuisinedeNormandyCourt,àcemomentil
reçoitsapromotionaugradedeMatc.IlsemblequePetawawaaituneemprisesurluipuisqu’il
estaffectéauxRCDpourlapremièrefoisle3juillet2000.Ilparticipedenouveauàunemission
desixmoisenBosnie,demarsàsept.en2001.Aprèscettemission,ilestaffectéau1RCR,de
2001à2003,c’estàcemomentqu’ilestaffectépourladeuxièmefoisau2RGCetqu’ileffectue
unemissionde2moisàKaboul.En2005,ilestpromuaugradedesergentetestdenouveau
affectéauRCDpourunebrèvepériodede5mois,puisilestaffectéàlaBFCBorden.Aprèsune
annéepasséeàBorden,ilestaffectéàNorthBayen2006,etilpartenmissionde7moisen
Afghanistanpendantcettepériode.En2009,laBFCPetawawal’appelledenouveau,etcette
fois,ilestaffectéauQGetTrans,atitredechefcuisinierd’unité.IlestensuiteaffectéàlaBS4
DivCPetawawaen2015,oùiltravailleàlacuisinedeNormandyCourtentantqueresponsable
del’approvisionnement.Le30sept.2015,ilestaffectéàl’UISP,oùilterminerasacarrièrele8
sept.2016.
Àsaretraite,RobetsafemmeHeatherresterontàPetawawa.Lecoupleadeuxbeauxenfants,
soitunefille,Samantha,etunfils,RJ.Ilal’intentiondeconsacrersontempsàtravaillerlebois
danssonatelier,etàl’intentiondecommenceràvoyageren2017avecsacharmanteépouse.
