Many tried to emulate the fruity, floral style of the Glenlivet and even 'borrowed' the name. In 1884 a landmark trial ensured that only George Smiths Glenlivet had the right to call itself ‘The Glenlivet’ – What made The Glenlivet the definitive single malt as early as the 1840s is still true today... mineral-rich water from ‘Josie’s Well’, taller, wider stills, and careful, slower maturation in hand-picked casks. • It is believed that every single distillery in Speyside (with the exception of Cardhu) has used the Glenlivet suffix at point in the past. In 1884, a landmark trial granted George Smith’s Glenlivet the right to call itself THE Glenlivet. • The Glenlivet’s signature style is rich, floral and fruity. – • You will never taste peat in The Glenlivet. The Glenlivet range includes: – The Glenlivet 12 Year Old, The Glenlivet 15 Year Old French Oak Reserve, The Glenlivet 16 Year Old Nadurra, The Glenlivet 18 Year Old, The Glenlivet 21 Year Old Archive and The Glenlivet XXV will be launched in the fall.
