Duet for a juggling actress and a handy technician Karen Bourre, jugggler and Julien Lanaud, light desiger met on the first production of the show « Sortilèges » (« Spells ») from Jérôme Thomas’ theater company. For three years, they regularly worked together and discovered they shared a mutual artistic sensitivity. This experience reinforced their desire of creating a duet mixing juggling and do it yourself stage design in direction of young audience. The result is a blend of acts, objet theater and magic tricks. Inspired by the music of Rose Murphy (pianist and jazz singer from the 50’s) with a high-pitched and reedy voice, the show « Rosie Rose » is set in a retro style and mischievous world. In a cartoonesque scenery, Rosie Rose - a tiny cheerful woman - gets caught up in the magic of the unexpected. Her « so british » home, like a game partner comes alive, turning the show into an everyday life fairy tale. Rosie Rose unfolds her little home circus, filled with parasols, balls, opera hats and hula hoops… And the ordinary becomes extraordinary Show created and interpreted by Karen Bourre and Julien Lanaud Flowers are growing on all the hidden recesses of the stage Garden gnomes are listening to private messages from the BeBeCe Walls are dreaming of revolution Mice are dancing on an old jazz tune The furniture are putting up a fight Sugars are jumping from one teacup to another Paper planes are preparing for take-off And the woollies are becoming emancipated Are we in an unreleased episod of the 4th Dimension or in an old super-eight cartoon ??? « Rosie Rose » is a surreal show with a great humorous tone, mixing juggling, magic, DIY bits and pieces... This 50 minutes show was intended for everyone over 4 years old. …. Karen Bourre Karen Bourre was born on a beautiful winter morning, facing a christmas tree… But do juggling balls grow on trees ? Few years later, and maybe not by accident, she enters Circus Space in London and becomes a JUGGLER. From that moment, it all happened very quickly, Gandini Juggling Project (2000), the theater company POK (2001-2005), Cirque Baroque (2002-2004), Nikolaus Maria Holz, Cie Préoccupé (2007) Cie Jérôme Thomas (2005-2011), … Her last creation, the juggling duet « Have a ball » had a flying start when it was broadcasted on « Le plus grand cabaret du monde », a very popular french tv program and has been all around the world since then. (international Circus festival in Monté Carlo, Nikuline Cicus Festival in Moscou, Vienna, Roncalli circus.....) And......OPOPOP.
