Quick Start Guide – Asthma Monitor

Note:
It is recommended that you read all information in the
instruction booklet before using the Asthma Monitor.
1. Time and date must be set first or unit will not work
properly. (See section 3 in instruction booklet).
2. Exhale into the Asthma Monitor to obtain readings.
(See section 4 in instruction booklet).
3. To install the included Asthma Analyzer software
(if desired), connect the Asthma Monitor to your computer
with the USB cable provided. Ensure that the Asthma
Monitor is turned off.
4. Insert software into the CD-ROM drive of your computer.
The installation process will start automatically. Follow
the on screen instructions to complete the installation.
5. Open the Asthma Analyzer software program. Click on
‘New Patient’ to add new profile information and save.
6. Turn the Asthma Monitor on. Automatically defaults to
‘Sample Patient’ – click OK, select the appropriate user
and click ‘Send ID’ .
7. Click the ‘Data Transfer Button’
to download the
readings from Asthma Monitor. Once the data has been
downloaded to your computer it will no longer
remain on the Asthma Monitor.
8. The Asthma Monitor and Asthma Analyzer software will
allow you to input your Personal Best Value. This value
can be obtained by using this device or having a
spirometry test by an authorized professional. Contact
The Asthma Society of Canada (www.asthma.ca) for
further information.
9. While the device is turned on and connected you can input
your Personal Best Value by selecting the Data icon
next to the Patient icon at the top of the screen. Then click
the Traffic Light icon and select ‘Set Traffic Light’
– Enter your Personal Best Value and save.
10. The patient data can be analyzed and viewed on the Data
page using the Personal Best Value, Ranking List, and
Traffic Light Display functions. The data can be displayed
in PEF or FEV1 modes.

1. L’heure et la date doivent être réglées en
premier lieu sinon l’appareil ne fonctionnera pas
adéquatement. (Voir section 3 du livret
d’instructions).
2. Pour obtenir des lectures, expirez dans le moniteur pour
asthme. (Voir section 4 du livret d’instructions).
3. Si vous le désirez, installez le logiciel “Asthma Analyser”
inclus; connectez le moniteur pour asthme à votre
ordinateur au moyen du câble USB fourni. Assurez vous
que le moniteur pour asthme est fermé.
4. Insérez le logiciel dans le lecteur CD-ROM de
votre ordinateur. Le processus d’installation débutera
automatiquement. Suivez les directives à l’écran pour
compléter l’installation.
5. Ouvrez le programme du logiciel “Asthma Analyser”.
Cliquez sur Nouveau patient “New patient”
pour compléter les renseignements nécessaires sur ce
nouveau profil et sauvegarder les données.
6. Mettez en marche le moniteur pour asthme. Le Prototype
patient “(Sample Patient)” s’affiche automatiquement
par défaut – cliquez sur “OK”, puis sélectionnez
l’utilisateur approprié et cliquez sur “Send ID”
7. Cliquez sur le bouton Transfert des données “Data
Transfer” pour télécharger les mesures à partir
du moniteur pour asthme. Une fois que les données
sont téléchargées à votre ordinateur, elles seront
supprimées sur le moniteur pour asthme.
8. Le moniteur pour asthme et le logiciel “Asthma
Analyser” vous permettront de saisir votre meilleur
résultat “Personal Best Value”. Ce résultat peut s’obtenir
en utilisant cet appareil ou en demandant à votre médecin
de vous faire passer un test de spirométrie. Contactez la
Société canadienne de l’asthme (www.asthma.ca) pour
plus d’informations.
9. Lorsque l’appareil est mis en marche et connecté, vous
pouvez saisir votre meilleur résultat en sélectionnant en
haut de l’écran l’icone Données “Data”
à côté de
l’icone Patient “Patient” . Puis cliquez sur l’icone du
Positionnement “Traffic Light”
et sélectionnez le
réglage du positionnement “Set Traffic Light” – Entrez
votre meilleur résultat et sauvegardez.
10. Les données sur un patient peuvent être analysées et
affichées sur la page des données en utilisant les
fonctions Votre meilleur résultat “Personal Best
Value”, Liste de classement “ Ranking List” et Affichage
du positionnement “Traffic Light Display”. Les données
peuvent être affichées en modes DEP ou VEF1.
