“The Donna Anna of Olga Pasichnyk is brilliantly sung...” (Mozart: Don Giovanni / Jacobs, Weisser, Et Al, Harmonia Mundi, Catalog #: 901964) Robert Levine ClassicsToday.com www.arkivmusic.com "8 settembre 2007 - Grande successo al Pergolesi per Adriano in Siria. (… G. Most of the arrangements are attractive and tasteful, and they are superbly performed by the sisters Pasichnyk. Classical Editor: Rob Barnett Music Webmaster Len Mullenger: [email protected] “Disc One features 25 folk-songs in settings for voice and piano by various Ukrainian composers from the 19th and 20th centuries. Most of the arrangements are attractive and tasteful, and they are superbly performed by the sisters Pasichnyk. Olga, the soprano, has a stunning voice, sings with passion and phrases with great intelligence. She characterizes the music vividly, and produces a tone that is pure enough for touching simplicity yet exciting enough for drama. Her melting performance of Lysenko's arrangement of The Winds Are Blowing is as good an example as any; the delicate pianissimo has you catching your breath. ... The general mood is mournful, and most of the songs are in the minor key, though there are some lively, humorous ones which the Pasichnyks do equally well… …This recording present music-making of the highest order, and give a flavour of the richness and power of this important source of European musical inspiration. The recording of CD1 is excellent, with an ideal balance between voice and piano”. Gwyn Parry-Jones www.musicweb.uk.net (Dumky, OPUS 111) "Olga Pasiecznik and Ryszard Karczykowski deliver their groups of Bellini, Donizetti and Meyerbeer songs with sensitivity, stylish flair and expertly shaped embellishments", Jed Distler www.gramophone.co.uk (Chopin, The last concert in Paris …, OPUS 111) "...you'll certainly notice the performance of Olga Pasiecznik, who has the voice of an angel and the musicality - phrasing, feeling, dynamic shading, the whole works and artistic intelligence to totally command the attention of even the unenlightened few who still think of Telemann as a second-tier composer". David Vernier www.classicstoday.com (Telemann, Cantates, DUX) "The singing of Olga Pasiecznik is outstanding..." Arnold Whittall www.gramophone.co.uk (Lutoslavski, "Silesian Triptych" and "Chantefleurs et Chentefables", NAXOS) "In the two vocal works, the "Silesian Triptych" and "Chantefleurs et Chentefables", Wit is joined by a superb Ukrainian soprano, Olga Pasiecznik, who sings these pieces as well as they ever have been" David Hurwitz www.classicaltoday.com (Lutoslavski, "Silesian Triptych" and "Chantefleurs et Chentefables", NAXOS) "Silesian Triptych /.../ is sweetly beautiful and beautifully sung here by Ukranian soprano Olga Pasiecznik, just 30, who is a star in the making". "The Ukrainian soprano is the one I'll return to when I want to hear this charming music in the vein of Poulenc's Le Bestiare". www.classicalcdreview.com (Lutoslavski, "Silesian Triptych" and "Chantefleurs et Chentefables", NAXOS) © 2005—2007 www.OlgaPasichnyk.com
