Les participants ont été invités à porter un regard rétrospectif sur
leur parcours de politologue, à réfléchir au bilan actuel qu’ils font de
leur chemin, et à esquisser une vision prospective, le tout en relation
avec l’évolution de la discipline.
A l’issue de la séance plénière, un apéritif sera servi dans le hall d’Uni Mail.
Le congrès se déroule à Uni Mail, 40 boulevard du Pont-d’Arve, Genève.

« Comparative policy analysis : new trends in cognitive approaches »
A big range of theories, models and frameworks exist to study political programs,
public policies and their outputs. The main goal of this workshop is to present two
of the most prominent cognitive approaches applied in policy studies : the “Advocacy
Coalition Framework (ACF)” (Sabatier et al.) and the “référentiels approach (RA)”
(Muller et al.) : These two frameworks will be discussed separately by systematically
outlining their key concepts, empirical and methodological thoughts and recent
applications in Switzerland. Finally, the strengths and weaknesses of the ACF and the RA will be compared.
This workshop follows two main objectives. First, we want to investigate about
recent developments and adjustments of the two theoretical frameworks. Did they gain from these current adaptations or, on the contrary, did they loose in consistency ? Second, we want to figure out how these frameworks are applied
in current Swiss and comparative case studies, and what are the main theoretical
and empirical challenges. One recurring question in this context is if Switzerland,
compared to other countries, provides such a specific institutional and political
setting that its integration in comparative case studies remains difficult. Could the ACF and the RA tackle this challenge and to what extent existing approaches could be adapted ?
The specificity of this workshop is that participants are able to discuss these questions with the main authors of the two frameworks, Christopher Weible (ACF)
on the one side, and Pierre Muller (RA) on the other.

de science politique (ASSP)
L
’Association internationale de science politique (AISP) est heureuse de
souligner le 50e anniversaire de l’Association suisse de science politique
(ASSP).
Au cours de ces décennies, la communauté académique suisse a été un important collaborateur aux
activités de l’AISP. John Goormaghtigh a été secrétaire
général de l’AISP de 1955 à 1960 et Jacques Freymond
a été président de 1964 à 1967.
Fondée il y a 60 ans, l'AISP regroupe aujourd'hui plus de
3 600 membres à travers le monde. Son rôle est de promouvoir la science politique et, à ce titre, elle a organisé
depuis sa fondation 21 Congrès mondiaux, dont deux
en Suisse – Zurich, 1950 et Genève, 1964. Le prochain
Congrès mondial aura lieu à Madrid en juillet 2012.

L'AISP a plus de 50 comités de recherches et publie la Revue internationale de
science politique, la Documentation politique internationale et Participation, le
bulletin d'information aux membres. De plus, l'AISP offre l'IPSAPortal, le portail
de référence des 300 meilleurs sites Internet de la science politique.

Praktische Informationen
Département de science politique
de l’Université de Genève
Fondé en 1969-70, le Département de science politique compte aujourd’hui
une soixantaine d’enseignants et de chercheurs, autour de neuf chaires de
professeurs ordinaires.
Plus grand département de science politique de Suisse, il couvre l’ensemble
des principaux champs de la discipline. Très actif dans la recherche, le Département est fortement intégré dans la science politique internationale.
Au niveau de la formation de base, à côté de la maîtrise universitaire, le
Département délivre un baccalauréat universitaire en sciences politiques.
Il est fortement impliqué dans le baccalauréat en relations internationales, ainsi que dans d’autres formations (maîtrise universitaire en management public, en études européennes). Au niveau de la formation avancée, le
Département délivre un doctorat en science politique. Il dirige actuellement le programme doctoral de science politique, qui réunit tous les instituts de science politique de la Suisse occidentale.
