Automechanika Istanbul fair realized new record figures and
underlines its leading position in the Turkish automotive industry
44,469 professional visitors from 123 countries gather in Istanbul
surrounded by strongly positive Turkish economic conditions
Exhibitors found the chance to increase their trade volumes
succeeding in new cooperation's by meeting with the industry
professionals mainly from the Eurasia Region, North Africa and
Middle East
Automechanika Istanbul’s 8th edition took place from April 10th to 13th,
2014, at the TÜYAP Fair and Congress Center. With 1.475 exhibitors
from 40 countries, the fair was the largest event ever held for the Turkish
automotive industry. The fair organized biennially till 2013 started to be
organized as an annual event for the first time this year due to intense
interest of the market. Beginning with 302 exhibitors in 2001, the event
raised the bar increasing this number up to 1,475 (739 national and 736
international) exhibitors in 2014 which is an 1,5% increase of exhibitors
to the previous year 2013.
Automechanika Istanbul also realized a new visitor record: 44,469
professional visitors from 123 countries came to Istanbul to visit the 8th
edition of this fair, which is an increase of 1,5% compared to the last
event of 2013.
The organizers of the fair, Messe Frankfurt Istanbul and Hannover Fairs
Turkey, express their satisfaction about the results: “Automechanika
Istanbul 2014 highlighted Turkey once again as a global automotive
production and supply platform. We are proud to have organized such a
professional and international fair and the satisfaction of all participants
confirms to us that the investments made in the concept and promotion
of the fair were the right ones”, states Alexander Kühnel, the General
Manager of Hannover Fairs Turkey, one of the Organizer companies.
This year Argentina was hosted as the partner country at
Automechanika Istanbul. Argentina was presenting its growing and
attractive automotive industry, which is opening its doors for production
expansion and investments by international partners. In the opening of
the fair honored by Mr. Ernesto Pfirter, Consul General of Argentina in
Istanbul, he expressed his opinions about the fair: “I would like to thank

the organizers for inviting Argentina as the partner country for such an
important industry event. I believe that the participation of Argentina to
Automechanika Istanbul will be a good start for a close collaboration
between the two countries as partners in the automotive industry.”
Visitors and exhibitors succeeded in productive cooperation's!
The exhibitors from 40 different countries, offered their products in six
different categories: Parts and Components, Electronic Systems,
Accessories and Tuning, Repair and Maintenance, Information
Technologies and Management, Service Stations and Car Wash. 18
country pavilions from Austria, Argentina, China, France, Germany, Hong
Kong, Italy, Romania, Pakistan, Pacific Alliance (Mexico), Singapore,
South East Europe (Slovenia), Serbia, Spain, Taiwan, Tunisia, USA and
UK presented their newest products to professional visitors.
The credibility of this event is demonstrated by the support of a number of
recognized industry associations including AASA (Automotive Aftermarket
Suppliers Association), APRA (Automotive Parts Remanufacturers
Association), ASA (Federal Association of Manufacturers and Importers of
Automobile Service Equipment, Germany), EGEA (European Garage
Equipment Association, Belgium), HDMA (Heavy Duty Manufacturers
Association), MEMA (Motor& Equipment Manufacturers Association),
OAC (Overseas Automotive Council), TAYSAD (Association of
Automotive Parts and Components Manufacturers, Turkey), YPG
(Independent Aftermarket Development Association Turkey) and ZDK
(German Federation for Motor Trades and Repairs) verifies the prestige of
this organization.
Voices of exhibitors
Mathieu Romet from Philips, Trade Marketing (France) stated about
the exhibition: "For the first time we are exhibiting individually here in Hall
8, usually we exhibited within the German or French Pavilion at
Automechanika Fairs in Dubai, Frankfurt or Istanbul. We are very satisfied
with the organisation of the Automechanika Fairs. Here in Istanbul we had
visitors from the Arab Countries, Lybia and Jordania!"
Gianni Malaguti - Export Manager from LEMA, Trucks and Buses
Spareparts (Germany) shared his opinion about the exhibition:"We are
exhibiting at Automechanika Istanbul for the fourth time and I see the fair
growing every year. For the European market this is the second most
important fair after Frankfurt. The leads here are exactly what we have
expected. We had visitors at our booth from the Middle East, Russia,
Rumania, Kyrgyzstan and even from Brazil !"
Mesut Urgancılar the President of YPG (Independent Aftermarket
Development Association Turkey) stated about the fair: “We as the
Independent Aftermarket Development Association for the aftermarket
sector are very proud of our cooperation which started this year and will

organization to Deutsche Messe and Messe Frankfurt.“
Patrizia Mariotto responsible for foreign trade promotion from api
Torino (Italy) stated:"Since many years api Torino is leading groups of
small and medium sized enterprises in this international hub where it is
possible to meet many players from different countries. Automechanika
Istanbul represents for them a key point event for their automotive
business."
Yağmur Kines the import manager of Bankosan (Turkey) expressed
her feeling about Automechanika Istanbul: "As Bankosan Automotive, we
are satisfied with the exhibition which we have participated for the second
time this year. Exhibitions have always had a significant role in the
growing automotive spare part sector. Thank to these exhibitions we find
the opportunity to ideally introduce ourselves to the visitors coming from
abroad...I hope there will be new business opportunities for everyone in
Automechanika Istanbul 2014."
The next edition of Automechanika Istanbul will be held from
09th to 12th April 2015 in Istanbul, Turkey.
