DANTE SCHOOL NEWSLETTER—DECEMBER ISSUE DECEMBER 18, 2009 HOLIDAY WISHES On behalf of the entire staff of Dante School, we would like to take this opportunity to wish you and your family the very best for the Holiday Season. May the New Year be filled with peace, happiness and good health. Have a safe and festive time. Enjoy every moment! H 1 N 1 VACCINATION 50 students from Dante School were accompanied by Dante staff and parent volunteers to the vaccination center at Ecole Reine Marie on St. Michele Blvd. on December 10th. Some parents also met their children at the center. The children were nervous but pulled through with flying colors. Hats off to you—the students for being very courageous. BAKE SALE AND BOOK FAIR On December 1st, 2nd and 3rd, Dante had its annual Book Fair and Bake Sale during Parent– Teacher Interview. Both were a great success. Many baked goodies were sent in by the parents to delight the taste buds of our little ones. Thank you to all those who contributed. The Book Fair was also a success, with many diverse titles for the children to chose from. All this was possible thanks to the teachers and parents who volunteered countless hours to this event. Thank You Ida Pisano Interim Principal Comite Verts…….. Ce concours consistait à présenter une initiative CTV—SPIRIT OF GIVING Dante Elementary teachers and students along with Laurier Macdonald IB students helped create Santa’s Village on December 8th for the CTV Spirit of Giving Campaign. Staff and students were asked to bring non-perishable items to take part in the holiday fun. A special thank you to the Spirit of Giving organizing committee (Ms. Sabina Di Zazzo, Ms. Sandra Ferrara, Ms. Melissa Gentlemen, Mr. Ryan Grad, Ms. Maria Grasso, Ms. Franca Mambro, Ms. Maria Seliskar and Ms. Tania Siconolfi), parents, teachers and the community for their generosity and support. . CHANGE OF CLOTHES/ INCLEMENT WEATHER The cold weather is upon us. Students are asked to dress properly for the weather and have a change of clothes especially extra socks in order to avoid calls at home or at work. Also, please label clothes or mark boots since many students have similar clothing. Frank Evangelista Interim Vice Principal SCHOOL PARKING LOTS Please be advised that the school parking lots are to be used for staff parking and not a drop off area for your children. Safety is being compromised by allowing your children to cross a parking lot while cars are entering. Your cooperation is of the utmost importance in this matter.
