Bibliographie - Bibliography Bibliographie courante sur l'histoire de la population canadienne et la démographie historique au Canada, 1977* A Cu"ent Bibliography on the History of Canadian Population and Historical Demography in Canada, 1977* par André LaRose* * Nous avons été amené à faire, pour le compte de l'Union internationale pour l'étude scientifique de la population (Liège) et de la Société de démographie historique (Paris), un relevé et une description succincte des publications de l'année 1977 concernant l'histoire de la population canadienne et la démographie historique au Canada. Les deux organismes s'uniront en effet pour publier chaque année, à partir de l'automne 1978, une «bibliographie internationale en démographie historique 1 ». Cette bibliographie, d'une soixantaine de pages, contiendra environ 300 titres couvrant les cinq continents. Nous avons pensé que la liste des publications canadiennes pourrait intéresser un public plus vaste que celui que rejoindra la « Bibliographie internationale», au Canada en particulier, et c'est pourquoi nous l'offrons ici aux lecteurs d'Histoire sociale. Nous comptons faire de notre bibliographie courante une chronique annuelle. Pour figurer ici, une publication doit correspondre à au moins une des catégories prévues par le cadre de classement que nous proposent l'U.I.E.S.P. et la S.D.H. pour leur «bibliographie internationale». Ne sont donc recensés que des livres et des articles que nous avons eus entre les mains. Nous ne prétendons pas que notre bibliographie soit exhaustive: certaines publications qui mériteraient d'apparaître ici ont pu nous échapper; d'autres n'ont tout simplement pas pu être examinées à temps pour y être inscrites. Nous invitons les lecteurs à nous signaler nos omissions ; nous les réparerons volontiers dans la bibliographie de l'an prochain. Les chroniques bibliographiques présentées par Acadiensis, BC Studies, The Canadian Historical Review et la Revue d'histoire de l' Amérique française nous ont été utiles ; ont également été consultés Canadiana, la Bibliographie du Québec, Radar, l'Anthropological Index et le Population Index. Cela ne nous a pas dispensé cependant de dépouiller une quarantaine de périodiques dont nous communiquerons volontiers la liste aux intéressés. O.
