A CALL FOR PROPOSALS
VIDEO COMPETITION
Festival Accès Asie is looking for an emerging artist to create a promotional video
for its upcoming 22nd edition. This initiative is intended to promote emerging visual
and video artists.
Our call for proposals is addressed to all emerging visual artists and video artists
from Montreal. The successful candidate will be offered a contract to create a series
of videos for the May 2017 edition of Festival Accès Asie.
Artists

Festival Accès Asie gives carte blanche to the candidates. Videos can be animations,
abstracts, etc. Once the application received, we will provide candidates materials if
needed (photos, video and general information about the 22nd edition of the
Festival).
Your application must contain the following
- A short biography (250 words maximum) describing your background as an
artist;
- A short text (250 words maximum) explaining why you wish to participate;
- Your portfolio;
- Your website.

The competition will be judged by kimura byol-nathalie lemoine (Multimedia artist
& Curator, Korea), Shahin Parhami (Filmmaker, Iran) and Khosro Berahmandi
(Artistic director and General manager of Festival Accès Asie).

before February 1st, 2017.
About Festival Accès Asie
This project meets the mandate of Festival Accès Asie, which was created to promote Asian
cultures through various artistic disciplines. Artists include those from over 20 Asian
countries: East Asia (Japan, China, Korea), Southeast Asia (Vietnam, Philippines, Indonesia,
Malaysia, Thailand, Singapore), South Asia (India, Pakistan, Nepal, Sri Lanka), Central Asia
and the Middle East (Turkey, Iran, Iraq, Syria, Lebanon, Afghanistan, Armenia and the
countries of the Persian Gulf). This competition is also open to artists of any origin who
make art inspired by Asian cultures.
