Workshop #9: Poetry and Prose – How to Connect the
Two?
How to teach students to appreciate good writing by exploring
the differences between poetry and prose.
Workshop #10/Atelier #10: Drama Games in the Classroom/
Jeux de théâtre en classe
This workshop will demonstrate simple drama games to teach
or reinforce concepts learned in class in various disciplines.
Most games can be adapted to all grade levels. The participants
will practice the games.
Cet atelier présentera des jeux de théâtre simples pour
enseigner ou renforcer les concepts appris en classe dans
diverses disciplines. La plupart des jeux peuvent être adaptés à
tous les niveaux. Les participants s’exerceront aux jeux.

students’ black boards
Have you ever felt like you could do more with the student
black boards? If you’re looking for ideas of how to use the
black boards in your classroom to teach, assess, and learn about
your students’ needs, this is the workshop for you!

expression française dans un contexte culturel et
linguistique donné
En combinant le plaisir de créer une pièce écrite avec la rigueur
de maintenir une bonne maîtrise de la syntaxe et de la
morphologie, cet atelier guidera les participants dans
l’utilisation d’activités qui retiendront l’attention et
l’engagement des élèves et qui leur permettront de bien
travailler sur l'expression et la précision.
Workshop #13: Literacy Activities for Lower Elementary
Classes
Activities for teaching English reading, writing and listening
and speaking activities to young children using very few
resources.
Workshop #14/Atelier #14: A Beginner’s Intro to the
Internet and Email/ Initiation à l'Internet et au courrier
électronique
Have you always wondered what the Internet is, how to set up
and use an email account, and how to search for information
online? This session will introduce you to the basics of using
the World Wide Web.
Vous vous êtes toujours demandé ce qu'est Internet, comment

Workshop #15/Atelier #15: Fitness in a Classroom/ Fitness
dans la salle de classe
Techniques to stretch in class and exercise with things around
us. Wake up exercises that can be conducted in class. We will
focus on abs work and stretches.
Techniques d’étirement en classe et comment s'exercer avec les
objets qui nous entourent : exercices d’éveil pouvant être
réalisés en classe. Nous nous concentrerons sur les
abdominaux et les étirements.
She does enjoy teaching and learning from her 5th graders.
Previously she has worked with students with special needs in
the 6th, 7th, and 8th grades for 11 years.

Atelier #12
Durant 25 ans, Jean-Luc AUPOIX s'est consacré à l'éducation et
à l'apprentissage et à l'enseignement des langues. De
l'organisation des examens du Baccalauréat International
français à l’enseignement quotidien (dans divers contextes
culturels), Jean-Luc a toujours pratiqué l'écriture créative
comme un moyen visant à développer l’expression et le
raffinement du langage.
Workshop #9
HOLYWELL, Kate is passionate about literature and has been
teaching literature and language for 25 years, in Australia,
Canada, Singapore, Vietnam and Hong Kong. She looks
forward to the opportunity to share some techniques that she
has used over the years.
Workshop #10/Atelier #10
PICHETTE, Marie-Hélène teaches upper school music and
performing arts at ISO since 2012. She has put on many
performances with the students and is in charge of the yearly
musical production held in March. Before coming to
Ouagadougou, she taught in Canada./ PICHETTE, Marie-Hélène
enseigne la musique et les arts du spectacle à l'ISO depuis
2012. Elle a participé à de nombreuses représentations avec les
élèves et elle est responsable de l’organisation de la comédie
musicale annuelle qui a lieu en mars. Avant de venir à
Ouagadougou, elle a enseigné au Canada.
Workshop #11
OUEDRAOGO, Fatihah is a teacher at ISO. She has been teaching
grade 5 for the past 2 years and is now in her third year of
teaching 5th graders. It is really a rewarding position to be in.
Workshop #13
GALE, Allan is an elementary school teacher. He has worked in
International schools for about 10 years, taught elementary,
secondary, special and deaf students in Australia.
Workshop #14/Atelier #14
BUCK, Myron is the Director of Educational Technology at
ISO, and has worked with teachers and students to help them
use technology in their lives for more than 20 years./ BUCK,
Myron est le Directeur des technologies éducatives à l'ISO et il
travaille depuis plus de 20 ans avec les enseignants et les
élèves afin de les aider à utiliser la technologie dans leur vie.
Workshop #15/Atelier #15
SOMÉ, Jules is a PE teacher at ISO. He has an Associate Degree
in Personal Training, worked at 24 Hour Fitness as a Fitness
and Nutrition Coach in 2009./ SOME, Jules est enseignant
d'éducation physique à l'ISO. Il est titulaire d’un diplôme de
Formateur personnel et il a travaillé à « 24 Hour Fitness »
comme nutritionniste et préparateur physique en 2009.
