"Survey on the Profile and Behaviour of Visitors to Québec" Contest Official rules 1. The "Survey on the Profile and Behaviour of Visitors to Québec" contest begins at 12:01 a.m. Eastern Daylight Saving Time (EDST) on June 24, 2010 and ends at 11:59 p.m. Eastern Standard Time (EST) on December 17, 2010. The contest is organized by the ministère du Tourisme. Eligibility 2. The contest is open to all natural persons aged 18 or over at the time of participation who visited, between June 24 and October 12, 2010 during a trip to Québec, one of the tourism offices targeted by the survey (see list in Appendix). However, despite the foregoing, employees, representatives, mandataries, agents, distributors, and advertising and promotional agencies of the ministère du Tourisme, as well as the members of their immediate families and/or the persons with whom they are domiciled may not participate in the contest. How to participate 3. Visitors who agree to participate in the "Survey on the Profile and Behaviour of Visitors to Québec" contest must first fill out an entry form when they visit the tourism office. The ministère du Tourisme will then contact them by e-mail or telephone and ask them to answer a questionnaire giving them a chance to win the participation prize. Participation prize 4. The participation prize is one (1) one-thousand-Canadian dollars ($1,000) gift certificate, exchangeable only in accommodation establishments that may be reserved solely at bonjourquebec.com. 5. The participation prize must be used by January 31, 2012. 6. The participation prize cannot be converted into cash. 7. The participation prize will be awarded through a random draw from all entry forms submitted by participants who answered the questionnaire. CONDITIONS ATTACHED TO THE PRIZE 8. The winner and his or her guests are responsible for all costs or expenses other than those related to services that may be billed to the hotel. These other costs or expenses include, without being limited to: return transportation between the place of residence of the winner and his or her guests and the place of accommodation selected, insurance, additional accommodation expenses, meals and beverages (including alcoholic beverages) not covered by the gift certificate, accident insurance, excess baggage fees, if applicable, travel insurance, medical insurance, gratuities, closed-circuit television, taxis, taxes and service charges on any item not mentioned above, personal expenses, costs related to any travel documents required, and any other unforeseen expenses. Awarding of the participation prize 9. To award the participation prize mentioned herein, one (1) random draw from all entry forms submitted by participants who answered the questionnaire will be held at 10 a.m. EST on December 20, 2010, at the offices of the ministère du Tourisme at 1255, rue Peel, bureau 400, Montréal (Québec) H3B 4V4. 10. To be declared a winner, the person must correctly answer a mathematical skill-testing question. 11. The person will receive an e-mail or a telephone call from the ministère du Tourisme within fifteen (15) business days following the random draw, notifying the person that he or she has won and explaining the procedure to follow in order to claim the prize. The person must respond to the e-mail or the telephone call within ten (10) business days following its receipt. 12. The winner's name will be posted on the bonjourquebec.com Website at www.bonjourquebec.com/contest until April 30, 2011. General rules 13. If the winner has not complied with the contest rules, the ministère du Tourisme reserves the right to disqualify the winner from the contest. 14. For the purpose of disseminating the contest results, the winner must authorize the ministère du Tourisme to use, if necessary and without any form of compensation, his or her name and the name of the city or town where he or she lives. 15. If the winner refuses to accept the participation prize, the ministère du Tourisme will be released from any responsibility or obligation toward the winner. 16. The ministère du Tourisme reserves the right to modify, postpone or cancel this contest, if necessary. The ministère du Tourisme is not responsible for any losses, delays, address errors or any other error. 17. The ministère du Tourisme assumes no responsibility of any kind whatsoever in cases where its inability to act results from an event or situation that is unforeseeable or beyond its control, including, in particular, a strike, lock-out or any other labour dispute in its facilities or in the facilities of the organizations or businesses whose services are used for holding the contest. 18. Any attempt to disrupt the participation process, to depart from the rules, to deliberately damage a Website or to adversely affect the administration, security or proper conduct of the contest constitutes an offence under criminal and civil laws. In the event of such an attempt, the ministère du Tourisme reserves the right to claim redress and damages from any person involved in such acts, to the extent prescribed by law, including the right to disqualify the participant from the contest or prohibit the participant from any future participation in a contest of the ministère du Tourisme. 19. The personal information that participants are asked to provide in connection with the contest will be used solely by the ministère du Tourisme or a third party it authorizes within the framework of the contest. This information will not be used for any other purpose without the consent of participants and, in providing the information, participants agree to its use for the purposes indicated. The information will be used in compliance with the department's personal information and privacy policy, which is available at http://www.bonjourquebec.com/qc-en/confidentialite0.html 20. The decisions of the ministère du Tourisme in regard to this contest are final and without appeal. 21. This contest is void where prohibited by law and is subject to applicable law in Québec. 22. Any dispute concerning the organization or conduct of a publicity contest may be submitted to the Régie des alcools, des courses et des jeux for resolution. Any dispute concerning the awarding of a prize may be submitted to the Régie solely for the purpose of intervention aimed at resolving the dispute. 23. No communication or correspondence related to the contest will be exchanged with participants other than the winner. 24. If a paragraph of these rules is declared or deemed illegal, unenforceable or void by a court, the paragraph will be considered void, but all the other paragraphs that are unaffected will be applied within the limits of the law. 25. The ministère du Tourisme in no way guarantees that the bonjourquebec.com/contest Website will be accessible or functional without interruption during the contest or will be free of any errors. 26. In the event of a difference between the French and English versions of these rules, the French version will take precedence.
