Short Presentation… A Label of Artists - Paral-lel
Short Presentation…
Since 2000, Bee Records has produced and distributed 9 records including 4 Vinyls, gathering a panoply of artists
involved in the electro, breakbeat and braindance scenes and raised with Warps sonorities.
BEE Records is also:
- Organization of more than 50 events in 6 years, gathering up to 1500 persons (at the Tryptique or Glaz’Art in
Paris; at La Marquise, the Sonic, the Ninkasi Kao or the festival “les Nuits Sonores” in Lyon).
- Its own festival, the PI_DAYS, in partnership with the Museum of Modern Art of Lyon, but also many graphic and
visual designers.
During the BEE Nights, we have presented crews such as Rephlex, Skam, Breakin’records, Planet Mu, Spezial Material,
Active Suspension and other rowdy guys going from KID ACNE’s hip hop to the crazy and hybrid hardcore of KID606.

A Label of Artists
Paral-lel (LIVE)
Paral-lel is made up of Slush and Praktisch, founders and persons in charge of the label BEE Records. Two years after
the creation of the label (2002), they appeared on its first release (EP1). While Praktisch was the “machine man” of the
triphop group SoHappy and had just released an album with the group Oldine (experimental/drone), Slush was shaking
the dance floors with his electro/break mixes. The long transversal, wich seemed to oppose their two universes, became
the source which gave Paral-lel its personal sound.
After 2005 and 2006, two years devoted to live shows which allowed them to play in prestigious places like the Sonar in
Barcelona, Fortress in London, Marsatac, the “Printemps de Bourges” (Electro discovery), the “Nuits Sonores” in Lyon,
Montreux Jazz festival or Nördik Impakt, Paral-lel’s electro-break rail gun was back with the “Firing for effects” E.P. (2006)
and the soon to be released, long awaited first album “Upgrade to mutant sheep”.

Cosmos 70 (LIVE)
The duet known as Cosmos 70 was born three years ago, after an experience with a downtempo, trip-hop group. Initially
a simple band, it widened in 2005 with the arrival of a video designer and artist from the “Beaux-Arts” (the French art
school).
Quickly, the idea of a coherent universe between music and image become essential. Created by musicians and video
designers, not just from a computer, the project offers more of a cinematographic history than a clip, offering both a
dreamy and energetic show.
Cosmos 70 wants to keep up with the human presence that is sometimes missing from electronic music. They prefer an
old synthetizer, a bass or a guitar to the closed and uncool world of the laptop. In the same way, the video is built live to
go further than simple musical synchronization.
The atmosphere balances with a touch of psychedelism between misty melancholy and furtive happiness.
“Our project is a visual and auditive trip” – Cosmos 70

Slush (DJ)
Specialized in crazy, uncanny and stunning rhythmic, his mixes transcribe various manners to interpret the groove:
traditional with breakbeat and electro, or less conventional through break-drill and breakcore. You might have seen him
shaking the crowd’s booties alongside Amon Tobin, DMX Krew, Kid 606 or Milanese.

Freddypogo (DJ)
Well-known figure of the alternative mouvement of his building, Freddypogo began his training of electronic music in 1992.
Initially in house music, the first compilation “Headz” (Mo Wax) was a revelation. Warp, Rephlex and Anticon is at the
“menu” of this vinyl ogre, compulsive sounds eater which messed up and remain anchored in our heads.
