PROCEDURE FOR
EDITING INFORMATION ABOUT A
CURRENT EMPLOYER OR A NEW JOB
PURPOSE
This procedure lets members edit information about their current employer or add a new job.
STEPS

Go to the OIQ Web site at www.oiq.qc.ca.
Click on the "MY PORTAL" button located at the top of the home page.
Log in to the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec site by entering your member number and your password. Next, click on "Log on."

Click on the “Profile” option in the menu on the left.

If you want to enter a job in your file when none is listed or even add another place of practice, go to step 11; otherwise, go to step 5.

In the “Information of your employers” section, click on the “Edit” button located on the right of the job that you would like to edit.

If you want to specify that you have changed jobs and provide the contact information of your new employer, please click on option
1.

If you want to edit the address of your current employer, select option 1.

If you want to specify that you have quit your job and are retired, unemployed, a student, on parental leave or disabled, click on
option 2.

If you want to edit your current employer’s information (telephone number, e-mail, field of practice, employment sector, insurance,
etc.), click on option 3.
It is not possible to directly edit the name of your current employer. If you wish to change its name, you must e-mail an official
document issued by your employer to [email protected] or call the Customer Service at 514 845-6141, extension 2398.

If you want to enter a job in your file when none is listed or even add another place of practice, please click on “Add.”
Special case
In the case of outsourcing, which means that you work at one single client’s site for a long-term assignment:
1.
Declare your principal employer (e.g. yourself if you are self-employed, your company if it is a sole proprietorship or the
outsourcing firm that employs you), and then go to step 1.
If it is a new job and you do not already have a job entered in your file, go to step 7.
 Choose the following as the employment sector: Private practice in engineering - Québec
2.
Add the contact information of the sole client to which you are being outsourced for the long-term assignment as another
place of practice, and then go to step 7.
 Choose the following as the employment sector: Outsourced engineering.
