My name’s Mark Walsh from Integration Training. This is our second video on defragmenting the
human operating system. What we mean by this is that our bodies and minds are integrated and they’re
the basis of whatever it is (that) we do. You can think of this as optimizing your system or, as kind of,
virus-scanning your system.
So a lot of people breathe quite high up in their chest in quite a shallow manner, like this, which means
they’re not really energizing their system for work adequately; breathe deeply with the belly and lower
back. So as you breathe in, your tummy muscles, your tummy will go out slightly as you breathe in. So
like a baby or a kid and your stomach’s relaxed and the tummy goes out. I’m exaggerating slightly here
so (that) you can see, as you breathe in. This is diaphragm or belly-breathing.
To do that, your mouth and your abdominal muscles need to be relaxed. That’s as opposed to chestbreathing, which is something I really only do, um, occasionally if I was tired. This kind of fire-breathing
from yoga can help energize you, or warm you, impassion you, but the most sustainable breathing over a
long period of time, (while you are) working, is the belly-breathing.
So there you have it: how to breath so (that) you’re relaxed, yet awake, and you’re in a good mood and
you’re energized for the whole day.
