Sacha inchi oil (Plukenetia volubilis linneo)
Pursuant to Article 5 of Regulation (EC) № 258/97, the Commission has received a
notification for the placing of the above-mentioned product on the Union market on 24
March 2014.

The Austrian Agency for Health and Food Safety (AGES) has delivered an opinion that
the Sacha inchi oil (Plukenetia volubilis linneo) to be placed on the market by the
company Altaselva Gmbh, is substantially equivalent to linseed oil (Linum usitatissimum
linneo) and to the product Inca Inchi virgin oil evaluated by the competent authority of
Ireland (FSAI) under Article 5 of Regulation (EC) No 258/97, with respect to
composition, nutritional value, metabolism, intended use and the level of undesirable
substances contained therein (Article 3(4) of Regulation (EC) No 258/97).
Pursuant to Article 5 of Regulation (EC) № 258/97 you are now receiving a copy of the
notification with its enclosures.

Conformément à l'article 5 du règlement (CE) № 258/97, la Commission a reçu, le 24
mars 2014, une notification pour le placement du produit susmentionné sur le marché de
l'Union.

Le Austrian Agency for Health and Food Safety (AGES) a émis l'avis que l'huile de
sacha inchi (Plukenetia volubilis linneo), que la compagnie Altaselva Gmbh voudrait
mettre sur le marché, est substantiellement équivalente à l'huile de lin (Linum
usitatissimum linneo) et de produit de l'huile de Inca inchi évalué par 1' autorité
compétence de l'Irlande (FSAI) vertu de l'article 5 du Règlement (CE) № 258/97 en ce
qui concerne la composition, la valeur nutritive, le métabolisme, l'utilisation prévue et le
niveau des substances indésirables qu'elle contient (article 3(4) du Règlement (CE) №
258/97).
Conformément à l'article 5 du Règlement (CE) № 258/97 vous recevez maintenant une
copie de la notification avec ses annexes.

Sacha inchi Öl (Plukenetia volubilis linneo)
Gemäß Artikel 5 der Verordnung (EG) № 258/97 hat die Kommission eine Mitteilung
am 24. März 2014 erhalten um o.a. Produkt in der EU-markt auf den Markt zu bringen.
Die Einzelheiten dieser Mitteilung lauten wie folgt:

Die Österreichische Agentur für Gesundheit und Emährungssicherheit GmbH (AGES)
hat eine Stellungnahme abgegeben, dass das Sacha inchi Öl (Plukenetia volubilis linneo),
das die Firma Altaselva Gmbh auf den Markt bringt, in Bezug auf Zusammensetzung,
Nährwert, Stoffwechsel, Verwendungszweck und Gehalt unerwünschter Stoffe mit
Leinöl (Linum usitatissimum linneo) und dem von der zuständigen irischen Behörde
zugelassenen Produkt "Inca Inchi Virgin Oil" im wesentlich gleichwertig ist (Artikel 3.4
von Verordnung (EG) № 258/97).
Gemäß Artikel 5 der Verordnung (EG) № 258/97 erhalten Sie hiermit eine Kopie der
Mitteilung mit ihren Anlagen.
