Validating your ticket helps counts the number of passengers on network lines.
This information helps Lignes d’Azur adapt times and frequencies of all lines
continuously better to meet passenger needs.

What you need to know
about paying fines:
Individuals without a valid address in France are required to pay the fine on
site (in cash or by bank card).
Individuals who can prove they have a valid address in France may also
pay the fine on site. Deferred payments must be paid at the Bureau des
Infractions located at 25 route de Turin, Nice (06300) or via the Internet at
www.lignesdazur.com (“practical info” section).
Deferred payment includes a management fee.
(At 1 January 2015 the fine for an invalid ticket amounted to €34.50. The fine
for not having any ticket amounted to €51.50. Management fees for deferred
payment amounted to €38 (which raises the fine for an invalid ticket
to €72.50 and the fine for not having any ticket to €89.50. Updated

G.S.C.T. (Transport security inspection group) staff members can be found
throughout the Lignes d’Azur network to ensure the safety of passengers
and operators. They are connected to the Central Control Station (PCC)
that contacts the appropriate authorities in the event of an incident on a line
such as:
• a passenger falling ill aboard a bus or tram
• an altercation
• an accident, etc.
These staff members ensure compliance with transport regulations and check
that tickets are valid. Official inspectors are authorised to issue a fine to
passengers without a valid ticket.
Fines applicable throughout France are set by official decree and are updated
each year in a notification in the Official Journal.
The rules for paying fines are displayed in all buses and trams. Prevention
and civility campaigns are run each year to help passengers adopt the right
attitude when using public transport.
