"Strong Online Authentication" mobile telephone number Certain transactions such as the "statement of account information declaration" can be performed in full via Barclaysnet. However, this type of transaction relies on a strong authentication mechanism, the purpose of which is to guarantee to Barclays France PLC that the transaction is in fact being performed by the Account Holder. When the transaction entered by the Account Holder is confirmed, the Account Holder is asked to provide a secret code. This code is then sent via SMS to the mobile telephone number referenced above. The code remains valid for a period of 15 minutes. Beyond that time limit, if the transaction has not been confirmed by inputting, on the Barclaysnet site, the strong authentication code provided by SMS, the transaction is automatically cancelled. If the Account Holder does not wish to provide a mobile telephone number, certain transactions will only be possible via signed, written requests.
