L’ALPS TOUR est une association à but non lucratif, créée en 2001 par 4 pays l’Autriche, la
France, l’Italie, la Suisse, pour donner à de jeunes professionnels l’opportunité de jouer et
d’obtenir une meilleure expérience pour jouer dans le CHALLENGE TOUR et l’EUROPEAN TOUR .
Cela permet aussi pour les meilleurs d’obtenir une catégorie sur le CHALLENGE TOUR et/ou des
exemptions pour le « stage 1 de l’EUROPEAN TOUR Qualifiing School ».
Puis d’autres Pays ont rejoint l’ALPS TOUR : la Belgique, l’Espagne, la Slovénie,le Maroc, et plus
récemment l’Egypte.
En 2013 déjà plus de 600 joueurs provenant de 22 Pays ont participé à l’un des 18 évènements. Le
total des prix atteignait approximativement 700.000 €.
Déroulement des compétitions :
-
120 à 144 joueurs ( 60% membres de l’Alps Tour, 40% joueurs nationaux ou invitation)
-
3 ou 4 tours de 18 trous, habituellement du jeudi au dimanche
-
Un cut après le 2 premiers tours pour garder les 40 meilleurs et exaequo
-
Remise des prix : minimum de 40.000 pour 3 tours ou45.000 pour 4 tours
COMMENT EST NE L’ALPS TOUR
Il y eu d’abord le « Tour Satellite »
En 1986 débuta le Satellite Tour créé par le Tour Européen avec la France la Suède , l’Italie
pour des évènements nationaux ouverts à des étrangers.
Depuis 1989, les meilleurs joueurs d’une saison deviennent membres du Tour Européen l’année
suivante.
En 1990 le
Circuit Satellite porte le nom de Challenge Tour .
Très vite victime de son succès le Challenge Tour devint incapable d’accueillir tous les joueurs
qui souhaitaient participer à ses compétitions.
En 2000 il fut
donc décidé de créer une 3 ème division européenne, plus régionale. 4 circuits régionaux furent
ainsi créer :
-une zone comprenant la Grande Bretagne et l’Irlande : « Euro Pro Tour »
-une zone regroupant les pays scandinaves : « Nordic League »
-une zone d’Europe Central : « Pro Golf Tour »
-et enfin l’Alps Tour comprenant l’Autriche, la Franc, l’Italie, et la Suisse
Chaque année, les 5 meilleurs joueurs de chacun de ces 4 circuits (une 3 ème division européenne)
deviennent membres du Challenge Tour l’année suivante.
L’ALPS TOUR DEPUIS SA CREATION
2001 16 events. Top 4 players access to the Challenge Tour the following season.
2002 16 events with minimum prize money of €25,000. 350 young pros are members of the Alps
Tour.
2003 19 events with minimum prize money of €27,000. More than 500 international players
members. Creation of the official website www.alpstourgolf.com
2004 Challenge Tour recognizes the success of the Alps Tour as well as the level of game as the
organization of tournaments. 22 events played. New country visited: Morocco. Minimum prize
money: € 30,000 for 3 rounds events and €45,000 for 4 rounds events.
2005 In front of the growing number of requests for participation from players of various
nationalities, the Alps Tour Committee decided to open this Tour to all professionals through the
organization of a Qualifying School.
2006 The Challenge Tour decides to give the name of “Satellite Tour” to all Third Level Tours.
2007 France takes the management of the Alps Tour, after Italy. Creation of the Alps Tour
Golf Association (official organizing body).
2008 Slovenia, Czech Republic and Belgium join Alps Tour.
2009 Spain and Peugeot Loewe Tour join the Alps Tour. First European Satellite Tour Grand
Final « Samanah Masters » which gather the Top players of each Satellite Tour.
2010 Alps Tour welcome further international players: 22 nationalities represented.
2011 10th Anniversary
2012 For the first time, the Alps Tour organises “Winter Series” tournaments in Morocco. At
the end of the year, the Qualifying School in La Cala Resort welcomes 236 international players.
2013 Egypt joins the Alps Tour with two “Winter Series” events.
2015 Tunisie joins the Alps Tour and for the first time of our history, there is a Grand Final
organised in Israel. The Alps Tour is included in the Official World Golf Ranking.
