I N T E R N A T I ON A L FAQ Maintenance Guide MODEL: LT-1000 Daily Date last completed Screen Visual inspection Check LCD screen surface and remove any debris with soft cloth and lens cleaner. Touch Panel Responsiveness Confirm that the screen responds to your touch. If not, calibrate Angle Alignment Inspect for glare or darkness. Adjust the angle of the screen to your preference. Tracer - Close door when not in use - Thoroughly clean and dry all frames ultrasonically before tracing - Never use any lubricant of any kind Always: Confirm Circumference Measured Trace the included square reference frame. Verify that the circ is 162.83 +/- 0.10mm. If on a "Frame Trace" not, proceed with "Frame Calibration". Confirm Circumference Measured Trace the included Square reference pattern. Verify that the circ is 162.83 +/- 0.10mm. If not, proceed with "Pattern Calibration". on a "Pattern Trace" Verify Stylus Position While the stylus is tracing the reference frame, confirm that the stylus if staying perpendicular to the shape as it traces all four sides. If not, please address ASAP. Digitized Image Accuracy Please confirm that the outline of the shape on the screen is consistent with that of the shape that was traced (see ref. #1 below). For any distortion or electronic noise (see ref. #2 below), please address ASAP. Interior Clean Tracing Chamber Remove any debris from the surface of the chamber. Loose dirt, frame screws and debris will always find their way into the lower section causing potential damage to the precision components. CAUTION: Never blow air into tracer. Rim Retainer Pins Inspect the condition of 8 pins. Replace any torn or missing covers prior to tracing frames. Stylus Tip Remove any debris that may be attached to the tip of the stylus. Make sure there is a smooth fluid vertical motion when the power is off. Slider Doors Make sure that the open / close motion is free of any restriction and or resistance. This will alter the shape of some soft frames if motion is compromised. PSA Support (Magnetic Contact) Clean the surface of this area with a moist cloth and mild detergent. Make sure that the holes for the location pins of the PSA are free and clear of any foreign matter. Button Responsiveness Make sure that each of the Three buttons responds as you depress and release each one. Demo Lens / Pattern Tracing Pin As you use your tracer for rimless tracing, please observe that the pin pops up smooth and quick and retracts without any visible resistance. Also make sure that the pin stays in contact with the shape that it's tracing around the entire perimeter of the shape. If not, please address ASAP. Screen If you're using a thin protective sheet for the screen, consider replacing this in order to maintain a clean screen appearance and minimize the possibility of data errors. Protective Sheet Tracer While the tracer is idle, confirm the home position of the stylus is parallel to the slot (see ref. # 3 below). Confirm that your stylus rotates 45 degrees to the right (see ref. #4 below) and 45 degrees to the left (see ref. #5 below) from the normal initialized position. If the 90 degree range exists but it's shifted unequally from the initialized position, please address ASAP.
