Description du projet small research company is developing electronic modules and building management systems. Development is focused on essential building automation (lights, VAC, heating), energy efficiency, security and multimedia. This approach allows to create intelligent building management solutions for various requirements. It enables to provide higher added value for the end-users. The company has already implemented thousands of installations of such a system on the market (residential or commercial buildings). For the future development of building automation systems seems to be important to expand the system by the function of a sort of an assistant for impaired persons. Also the vital bodily functions of the persons who require constant monitoring is expected to be developed. Using the latest computer technologies and in line with commercial trends in home multimedia and gaming consoles, especially the technology of motion sensing input device, the company intends to integrate this solution by addition of another control interface for building management systems. This technology utilizes a set of 3D sensors that monitor the immediate surroundings and translate any given 3D interaction model (such as movement of the human body) into a set of computerized commands. The implementation of such sensorics into inner and outer environment of the residential houses, offices, hospitals or other buildings with intelligent management would significantly expand the capabilities of these systems. The company intends additionally implement the monitoring of movements or the monitoring of the vital bodily functions of persons in these buildings. Description of work to be carried out by the partner(s) sought: PROFILE 1: endusers (institutes for managing, supervising, protecting cultural heritage) requirements; PROFILE 2: high-resolution remote sensing 3D data acqusition; PROFILE 3: storytelling, providing multimedia content for chosen cultural and historic sights scenarios; PROFILE 4: architecture and infrastructure of services framework; PROFILE 5: object reconstruction and classification, mesh decimation, data compression; PROFILE 6: intelligent software agents development; PROFILE 7: game and GUI development; PROFILE 8: mobile devices programming. Description du projet The project goal is to develop a framework that would enable users to efficiently and qualitatively represent cultural/historic sights and exhibits by creation of virtual environments from high-resolution real world data. The focus is on reconstruction of objects from remotely captured high-resolution 3D point clouds. Algorithms for surface reconstruction, point classification and data compression are, together with georeferencing, mesh decimation, feature extraction and other data filtering techniques, aimed to encourage data transmission over networks and fast realistic visualisation. The intended project outcome is neither an interactive GUI-based modelling tool nor an executable implementation of an interactive 3D viewer, but a system of web services for interacting i.e. accessing, filtering, transmitting etc. geometric models from a designated data server. With proper orchestration of carefully designed web services, programmers – developpers of enduser applications will be able to develop virtual worlds for arbitrary endusers’ scenarios in a rapid, flexible and modular manner. Applicability, modularity and generality of the developed framework will be demonstrated in various case study scenarios addressing several cultural sights and artefacts throughout Europe, and involving versatile Propositions de projets européens en cours de montage à la recherche de partenaires ways of user engagement with modelled and rendered 3D environments, including computer games, avatar-guided virtual tours, pre-planned or fully interactive virtual walks etc. Although our primary occupation is the call target outcome c), utilization of the methodology to some aspects of target outcome a) appears a natural and affordable extension of the proposed web services framework. Intelligent software agents can be implemented to fuse 3D models with suplementary multimedia information, jointly transmit them to a client and initiate adequate construction of adaptive GUI. Consequently, diversity of user engagement modes can be extended to story-telling, quizes, multimedia presentations of local cultural/historic sights and exhibits on GPS-equiped mobile devices etc. Référence des appels ICT-2011.8.2 ICT for access to cultural resources Code EURESEARCH date 13/03/2012 Propositions de projets européens en cours de montage à la recherche de partenaires Titre du projet VPH-supporting architecture design and development Profils recherchés Experts in several areas are sought. The outdoor monuments of Europe – statues, fountains, war memorials, art sculptures –offer a rich representation of local and national culture and history in physical form, but are rarely well understood by the general public. Monuments viewed without information about their context become meaningless and thus “invisible”. However they can be a powerful focus for informal learning, connecting local people with their past in a very direct way. Monuments also need people to engage with them, in order to help document and protect them. In many places, these valuable and often irreplaceable artefacts come under attack, including simple forgetting, neglect, ill-judged restoration, building development, graffiti, mutilation and theft. Propositions de projets européens en cours de montage à la recherche de partenaires Location aware services, based on mobile phones with fast data connections and positioning technology, have the potential to reconnect public and monuments very effectively, to the benefit of both. Delivering relevant information when and where it is needed, they can help to raise the public’s awareness and understanding of cultural heritage. Via social networking and user generated content, they also open up the possibility of more active engagement, enabling members of the public to receive news of monuments related to their interests and even to add their own curatorial commentary and report on new developments and potential threats. In contexts where only sparse "expert" information is available, user-sourced content can form an informational safety net, complementing and perhaps contesting existing information and interpretation. Building on cloud computing-based services for information sharing, user generated content and social networking developed in previous projects, and drawing on databases of the public sculptures of Europe, it will apply and explore a model of mobile interaction with digital objects to develop a cross platform environment for public engagement with outdoor cultural heritage. The electric unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV Agents or Agents) will be capable to take-off and fly using an electric motor. Batteries of the Agents are recharged by regenerative soaring during flight. After encountering an updraft (thermal, upwind slope lift) an Agent soars like a sailplane. The propeller works as a turbine and the electric motor functions as a generator in this mode. The produced energy recharges batteries and powers the electric equipment of the Agent. Energy gain can be improved using solar power. This energy harvesting methods enables the UAV Agents to stay aloft for a long (indefinite) periods of time as the energy of updrafts is in lesser extent available also during night. The Agents will operate in a loose swarm and share information on position, weather conditions etc. The agents will search for updrafts autonomously (but cooperating with the members of the EFlock), optimize their flight trajectories with regard to the mission objectives and power management, solve critical situations and responds to human issued instructions. The instructions will be defined as partial and general objectives instead of detailed commands. The proposed Agents will be based on commercially available components, quiet and clean, fossil fuel independent and with very low operational cost. Propositions de projets européens en cours de montage à la recherche de partenaires Because of its unobtrusive character and long endurance the E-Flock is suitable mainly for reconnaissance and intelligence gathering (e.g. traffic or fire control, bird eye view during rescue operations or catastrophic events, search for lost persons, weather forecast, etc.) The E-Flock will operate in low to medium altitudes and take advantage of the vertical atmospheric motions to extend its effective range. We propose the Artificial Intelligence (AI) of the E-Flock to be distributed between the onboard and a ground based computers. The onboard AI will be responsible for autonomous flight (full manual radio control is to be installed, overriding the autonomous behavior), reaction in critical situations (e.g. stall and spin recovery, parachute deployment etc.), optimization of flight trajectory with respect to the mission objective and to the atmospheric conditions (power management) in cooperation with E-Flock, localization and utilization of updrafts and other tasks. We propose the onboard computer to communicate with the human operators and the ground AI via GSM and 3G networks. The ground based system will collect the long time surveillance data, match the data with digital map of the operational area and interface with the mission control Furthermore, the ground AI will analyze the weather and wind, inform the Agents on areas producing updrafts and optimize the E-Flock's overal behaviour. Our specific objective is to bring the MSH to testing practice in surgical field (in accordance with the procedures laid down by the legislation) and then to perform an evaluation of the product in a real clinical use. For a possible commercialisation of the product it is believed that the production of pieces in a year must take account of the following three types of potential customers: 1) Hospital or healthcare facilities or public and private Universities - national or non-national, with high purchasing power but that sometimes seems to be suspicious with regards to specific technologies. 2) Doctors engaged in a surgery in private Clinics (also in dentistry), which may be very interested in the MSH but with low purchasing power, if put in relation to the potential cost of it. 3) Organisms and International structures involved in health activities in challenging environments where there may be a single surgeon for a huge population and where the surgeon may have to perform actions having not sufficient experience. Purchasing power is uncertain. Propositions de projets européens en cours de montage à la recherche de partenaires On the basis of information in our possession and on an evaluation of the possible spread of the product, it is conceivable to reach as a minimum target at least a 30% of all hospitals in Europe. Each Hospital may need to buy at least one tool for surgical division (General and Specialist), i.e from 5 to 10 instruments.
