Dear Parents and Community members,
School Council
This week, comprehensive training was undertaken by
Council members to further assist members in be;er
understanding their roles and responsibili/es. The Council is the governing body of the school. It determines
educa/onal policies, within Department of Educa/on
and Training guidelines to ensure that the goals and priori/es of the school are achieved. All School Councils
form sub commi;ees, whose primary role is to advise
and support the school council in their role as a governing body. At Caulfield Junior College we have the following sub commi;ees:

Policy Development Commi;ee
Buildings and Grounds Commi;ee
Parent Commi;ee
PR and Communica/ons Commi;ee
FSE Commi;ee
In the coming weeks the Convenor of each sub commi;ee will publish the next mee/ng date. If you would
like to have input into these commi;ees please express
your interest through the Office or contact the convenor
directly.
Student Safety:
2015
Term 1: 28 January to 27 March

Grade 3/4A—Chickenpox advice.
Student safety and the safety of all members of the
school community are high on our list of priori/es. In
order to maintain high levels of safety several reminders
are included below.
•
Please access the school through the pedestrian
gates. It is unsafe to enter through the car parks.
•
All bikes, scooters and skateboards are to be
walked through the school grounds.
•
ABer 5.00pm please exit the main school building
through the doors onto the asphalt rather than the front
exit leading directly onto Balaclava Road.
•
Students are reminded that exi/ng from the front
of the school at the end of the school day can only be
done so when accompanied by an adult.

3/4 Camp:
Excitement is growing within the 3/4 team as staff and
students prepare for camp next week. A camping program fosters unique learning opportuni/es outside the
classroom. I wish the fiBeen staff members and 140 students fine weather and a fabulous /me.

Ac/vités et événements prévus pour ce 2eme trimestre
-Du lundi 18 au mercredi 20 mai : camp des CE2 et CM1 à
Forest Edge.
-Mardi 26 mai : Excursion pour les élèves de CM2 et 6ème
à Sovereign Hill.
-Dimanche 31 mai de 14h à 17h : Working Bee
-Jeudi 4 juin : concours de poésie Berthe Mouche;e pour
les élèves du CE2 à la 6eme.
-Lundi 8 juin : Jour férié pour Queen’s Birthday.
-le 23 et 25 juin : incursion pour les CE2 et CM1 sur des
expériences chimiques.
-le mercredi 24 juin : envoi des bulle/ns scolaires du 1er
semestre
-Vendredi 26 juin : dernier jour de classe du trimestre, fin
des classes à 14h30.
Bulle/ns scolaires
Les deux bulle/ns scolaires du 1er semestre de votre enfant (bulle/ns français et australien) lui seront remis le
mercredi 24 juin. Dans la même enveloppe, vous trouverez un tableau des plages horaires pour les rencontres
avec les professeurs de votre enfant : vous pourrez choisir
un créneau sur les 2 premières semaines du 3ème trimestre, du 13 au 24 juillet.
Appel aux volontaires
Merci à nos super mamans de l’école Catherine Blanchy et
Peggy Halas pour leur volontariat : toutes deux nous aident à la mise à jour du fond documentaire francophone
de la bibliothèque de CJC ainsi que pour travailler en bibliothèque avec certaines classes. La tache est grande,
aussi, si vous avez un peu de temps, merci de les contacter

CM2, pour son magnifique travail de traduc/on vers l’anglais de certains de nos documents d’harmonisa/on des
programmes : sa contribu/on nous aidera encore davantage à mieux faire comprendre le programme français aux
enseignants australiens de la FSE et à l’équipe de direc/on
australienne de CJC
Working Bee
Le dimanche 31 mai de 14h à 17h, vous êtes invités à la
Working Bee pour faire de pe/ts travaux d’entre/en et
d’embellissement de notre école.

Both your child’s reports (French and Australian) will be
given to him/her on Wednesday 24 June to take home. In
the same envelope you will find the parents-teachers interview "me slots available at the start of term 3 from
July 13 to 24.

Bonjour à toutes et à tous et Bienvenue dans ce Term 2!
Nous faisons appel à vous aujourd'hui pour dynamiser et étoffer la collec/on de livres et manuels éduca/fs pour les bibliothèques des
établissements de l'EFM à savoir l'Ecole maternelle française (de Renown et Brookville kindergarten), l'école primaire (Caulfield Junior
College) et le collège (Auburn High School).
Vous voulez faire du tri, faire de la place dans votre bibliothèque, vos enfants ont grandi et passent aux romans policiers plutôt que
Tchoupi, alors, pensez à nous! Nous avons toujours besoin de livres pour offrir un large choix à nos enfants dans les bibliothèques
francophones!
Quoi donner?
- des livres pour tout âge mais en FRANCAIS ou bilingue FRANCAIS/ANGLAIS
- BD, atlas, documentaires, romans, Albums
- dic/onnaires, manuels scolaires
- des magasines, mensuels, cahier de vacances (non remplis SVP)
- des jeux éduca/fs
Quand donner?
Term 2
Tout le long du terme 2 vous pourrez déposer vos livres!
Où déposer les dons?
Nous allons placer des caisses pour déposer vos dons (tous types / âges confondus)
Pour Renown : dans la classe EFM
Pour Brookville: dans la classe EFM
Pour CJC: à l'accueil
Pour Auburn : à l'accueil a l'a;en/on de Genevieve Papon
Qu'allons nous faire de ces dons?
Nous allons les trier par âge et les donner aux bibliothèques de chaque établissement EFM (Renown et Brookville, CJC, Auburn High
School).
Pour certains, ils seront revendus lors d'un bookstall comme fundraising au bénéfice de l'EFM et cela perme;ra ainsi de pouvoir
acheter des équipements ou supports pour les enseignants du cursus français.

We hope you have spent nice Easter Holidays and you are ready to begin this Term 2!
Today, we are calling on you to revive and enrich the collec/on of books and educa/onal books available at the libraries of the EFM
Schools: Renown and Brookville Kindergarten, Caulfield Junior College and Auburn High School.
You want to make room in your bookcase, your children have grown up and have moved on to police novels rather than Tchoupi,
then, think about us! We always need books to offer a wider choice to our children in the French-speaking libraries!
WHAT ?
- Books for any age, in FRENCH or bilingual FRENCH/ENGLISH
- fic/on, non-fic/on, atlas, dic/onaries, comics, schoolbooks ...
- Magazines, ac/vity books (non used)
- Educa/onal games (French or bilingual)
WHEN ?
During Term 2, you'll be able to donate your books!
WHERE ?
Boxes will be available :
- at CJC : at the office
- at Renown & Brookville : in the EFM classrooms
- at Auburn : at the front office to the a;en/on of Genevieve Papon
AND AFTER ?
Your books will be sorted out and dispatched to the different libraries.
Some will be sold at bookstalls and money will go towards EFM fundraising.

WE URGENTLY NEED YOUR HELP!
Parent volunteers are needed to help share the load and prepare:
Sushi on Wednesdays (12pm to 1pm – 1 hour)
Hot Dogs every second Friday (from 12pm).
Without volunteers these fundraising food op/ons will not be able to
be offered in the future.
You do not need to volunteer to help out every week but if people can
offer varied /mes we can set up a roster for the term.
